Soundgarden to tour without drummer Matt Cameron
He'll tour with Pearl Jam instead, 'I am still an active member of Soundgarden', he says
Cameron joined the "Alive" hitmakers in 1998, a year after Soundgarden split, and he has spent the past few weeks busy promoting Pearl Jam's new album "Lightning Bolt." Eddie Vedder and his bandmates are expected to continue an ongoing tour well into 2014, and although dates have yet to be announced, Cameron wants to keep his schedule clear so he can honour his commitment to the group.
The decision means he will not be able to join his Soundgarden pals on the road, but Cameron insists he will be back. A statement released on Soundgarden's website
"I will be taking 2014 off from Soundgarden touring due to prior commitments promoting Lightning Bolt with my brothers in Pearl Jam and the desire to have more time at home with my family. I am trying to balance the many twists and turns of my awesome music career. This is temporary. I am still an active member of Soundgarden."

Grunge stars Soundgarden reunited in 2010 and are planning to hit the stage in 2014 at the Lollapalooza festival in Chile, in addition to shows in Argentina, Brazil and Germany. More dates are expected to be announced.
Hard to blame Matt for going with the "bread and butter."
Good luck replacing Matt Cameron in Soundgarden. They just won't sound the same (or be as good without him). Soundgarden should wait until he is available and respect that he plays in Pearl Jam. Soundgarden broke up, Pearl Jam didn't.
