Toby Keith under fire for no guns policy at his restaurant chain

Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill Virgina location won't allow firearms

Gun-toting fans of singer Toby Keith's fans in Virginia are taking aim at the country star over a no-weapons policy at a restaurant he owns in the state.

The "Beer For My Horses" hitmaker's Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill has a 'No guns permitted' sign posted on the front door, even though state law permits firearms owners to carry weapons in dining establishments, and his stance has upset many potential patrons, who have taken to various social media sites to express their anger over the policy.

One Facebook user wrote, "Exactly when did fans of Toby Keith become dumb enough to think a No Guns allowed sign posted by management would protect them from criminals that don't obey the law to start with? Loved the concerts, but none of my money will ever be spent where I can't defend myself." Another fan added, "No guns allowed? Why does he hate America so much?"

Keith has responded to the controversy in a post on the restaurant's Facebook.com page, writing, "While we understand and respect every person's right to own and bear arms, we at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill, with guidance from the State of Virginia and based on insurance regulations, have adopted a no weapons policy. It is our desire to provide a safe, enjoyable and entertaining experience for our patrons and staff."

However, not every person is upset about the rule and some have even applauded Keith for his stance, writing, "Hooray for you!!! I'm a Gun Owning (sic) advocate but booze and guns don't mix well so THANK YOU for providing a fun, safe environment."

The word that keeps on being edited out, but not the last three letters, which is someones' attempt at implying I am a racist, same as if I disagreed with the policies of president barack obama and get called a racist for that, ibut the word being deleted for some reason to smear my post pertains to any group of people in urban environments who shoot guns illegally,   WE are talking any race who would band together and shoot guns in turf warfare.  Shame on you like I said for what you have done, maybe I ought to email fox news about this, maybe they would be interested in this.

I find it interesting that a liberal communist slanted moderator, most likely, has edited my below two threads down to block such word pertaining to "****ers",as if that is a dirty word.  I know what you are trying to do, in that you are trying to make or imply it to look as if I used a racial epithet, and that is not true.  This is the problem we all face these days, where one side of the story is all that is supposed to be told, and we all know where that has gone for other countries, oh, like Nazi Germany, communist soviet union, Bennito Mussolini's fascist Italy, and every other despotic country in history.  And beware, that someday someone like me could be in power, me or like minded freedom loving americans, and think where you might be then, like scrutinized by the then government, I mean, it wouldn't be the first time something like that happened, I mean, many Nazi's in post war Germany found that out first hand.

By the way, my "sir drinks alot" handle was in response to the issues surrounding beer and wine quality and manufacturing, I'd like to start a microbrew and I have had to comment on alot of bogus ideals pertaining to chemicals added to spirits in the last five years to make them last longer on the shelf only for higher profits, along with the downsizing of container quantiy with no price decrease, and ya know, they have laws in other contries to ban that sort of thing, like in Germany that has the beer law that is bout four hundred years old, and we all need one ourselfves, cause some of these chemicals can cause cancer.  Technically, this post originally covered "drinking" establishment, and my handle fits on these issues.  Frankly, all they need to do to stop drink and driving is everytime someone wants to drinks in an estabilishment, then they need to provide proof that they will not drive, but lets face it, nobody cares really about that, saving society from evil drinkers who drive and get their drinks at bars, clubs, and other establishments, that can be banned and folks can drink at home, not in a restaraunt, and I could care less, I have never drank an alcoholic beverage at a restaurant, and only several times at a bar that was next to my apartment building years ago.  Bars are useless, really, they kill far more people than african american or hispanic ****ers do every year.

Hey tod wright, its interesting that you throw around your weight as an ffl holder as if that means you aren't a lowly stinking communist liberal, but that doesn't mean you feel that your income can also depend upon arming up the cops with their guns and ammo and gear long after poor, non influential regular citizens are banned from self defense and sporting activities, I have met several in the past, totally liberal, we got another new one locally thinks he is gonna get a $100k grant to study making silencers for the government and law enforcement for do ray me big time, probably will cause he seems liberal(bad).  Just so happens I have an ffl for the last fifteen years myself for collecting 03ffl, and I understand everything about the laws and once gun owners start compromising it is like giving the other side an inch and they take a mile instead every time where as the compromisers lose and inch and then another mile all the time as usual, and I am tired of compromising, and on issues like this, I could care less what other say, liberal or not, compromise means loss.

Besides all this, and apart from why folks are still following this old story from last month, I would just like to know what people think they get from gun bans, and I can tell you, tell you all that folks can care less about making a safe environment, they care only about absolute power, and most places in the world and in history have had weapons control over the populous, but right here in america people like me have paid money in taxes and blood during military service for some sort of ideals that we are "more free than those opposing countries", and I want my return for those sacrifices, I don't like to be lied to, and I sure don't like propaganda, and we all know that gun control is pure propaganda when we are talking gun bannings.  Here, let me be clear on my ideas of gun control, that all illegal aliens should be identified and their homes searched for guns and deported, and that in the inner citites that minorities should go through a double check system to verify they have the gun still in six months and haven't had some girlfriend buy it for her ****er boyfriend or relative, and that all gangs should be outlawed by penalty of death, and that good honest decent folks should be able to defend themselves without a stupid propagande court case like what happened to that zimmerman self defender, who was right in blowing away that ****ing hoody wearing thug no matter what his age, I have been beat almost to death in the past, and I feel it everyday, damaged neck, crushed in sinus, damaged hearing, done by black gang thugs robbing me and took three of them, and never again, which is why I carry a concealed weapon with a permit and always will, just so happens I almost got beat by some illegal alien mexicans  recently who thought they could rip me out of my car, errrrrr, before they saw the gun, which by the way saved my life, all cause I was gonna report their license plate to the police for almost running down a child., they saw me write down their license plate.

You gun banners, you are murderous dangerous filth praying to a false god in black robes, you can care less about the safety of society, and Husein Obama is your satanic cult leader, metaphorically, haha.,  And you chant your satanic praises on threads like this in some sort of twisted black mass in homage to your messiah(Obama).

As an FFL holder, (anyone else here, have an FFL...Bueller?) I applaud this guy's gun stance. One can hardly accuse me of being anti-gun when my income is almost solely generated by their sales.

I refuse to sell firearms to perhaps 30% of my potential customers. I have also asked the NRA to strike my name as a lifetime member due to their insistence on not budging to make us all safer by not advocating for  a widely expanded background check system.

People seem to think that firearm ownership is a right. Well, they are only partly correct. They gloss over the "well regulated militia" bit--the meaning of this bit is: properly trained and disciplined.

I am no fan of new country, but this Keith fellow has taken the stance most proper to help ensure the safety of all of his patrons.

The founders would likely be appalled by today's weaponry and ease of acquisition.

To Balderdash 24 :

People that want to get even by killing (with whomever/whatever) have a much easier time of it with a gun in their hands. If the suggestion here is he'll do it with a CDL truck instead of a gun so why not give him a gun to begin with and save a bunch of lives is senseless. Unless of course he is going to take all the dead bodies home, put them in the freezer and use them as food. Then it's perfectly acceptable. He should have the right to hunt food with his semi until he has enough ovi's or reckless ops that take his license.  Then he'll have to start hunting and killing with his International Harvester. Jeeeeeeez.

Good job Toby Keith in sticking to YOUR guns against

these bunch of ignorant rednecks. The Virginia ignorant rednecks

are much like the ignorant rednecks of my home state of SC and

adopted state of Texas. They want to be able to carry guns and kill **** in the name of God..

Here's to hoping that another ignorant redneck will use a gun on THEIR loved ones. Better

yet, I hope it's a trannie that shoots them.

It is a dive, anyway.
Another establishment opened, usually for tax purposes, by so called elitists to sucker in "fans".

Wondered if TK's armed guards are, well, armed when they go in there?

I'm glad the C&C retired cop in FLA made his position abundantly clear to the man he shot. That's the obvious answer for rudeness and texting. So much better with guns in the establishment. Facepalm.

I am also offended about the sign, that states no affiliation with motorcycle clubs, not all clubs are criminal! As for the gun , state law says they can carry then they will . Train your staff as to what to look for in groups of people. And FYI criminals won't stop to read your sign! I think you made a huge mistake , with both instances you have just offended at least half the population. It's us little people that will make or break you .

This place is under fire lately because it's a gun-free zone. However, think about why. If you have a concealed carry permit, you filed paperwork that says you will abide by the conditions (laws!) of having that permit. One of those conditions is that you cannot carry in an establishment where alcohol is served or consume alcohol while carrying your weapon. Have a little common sense, people! It's not that Toby Keith hates guns - he doesn't own the restaurant anyway. It's more likely that he doesn't want his patrons getting lit and shooting eachother in a drunken bar brawl.

To gun nuts in general-
Many of you think the gun will protect you and solve your problems, but in reality the outcome is always far different.  Ask George Zimmerman if he would now rather have not had a gun and just called the police when he saw that suspicious looking guy in the hoodie.  Zimmerman is a pudgy wannabe cop who could not cut the mustard, so he took up the next best thing as a neighborhood watch guy.  Trayvon Martin was a teenager, who like all teenagers, wants to prove he is a "badass".  Without the gun, Zimmerman would have not had the balls to confront this guy in the dark, but probably would have just called in the report and maybe just followed the kid at a distance to see what he was up to.  It was the possession of the gun that encouraged Zimmerman to confront the kid.  Martin, trying to be the bad**** probably told him to *uck off and the pudgy wannabe used the weapon to build his courage- the rest is history- Martin is dead and Zimmerman will spend the rest of his life trying to escape the story- there is a good possiblity he will end it all by swallowing the barrel himself.

"Ex-Navy sniper, another military vet killed at Texas gun range

By Greg Botelho and Josh Levs, CNN

updated 8:23 AM EST, Mon February 4, 2013

“(CNN) -- A former Navy SEAL known for claiming a record number of sniper killings in Iraq was one of two men shot dead at a Texas gun range, allegedly at the hands of a fellow military veteran, officials say.

Chris Kyle, the author of the best-selling "American Sniper," and Chad Littlefield, also a veteran, were gunned down Saturday afternoon on the grounds of the expansive Rough Creek Lodge and Resort in Glen Rose, Texas, southwest of Fort Worth, law enforcement officials said.”

Again, Louise, NOT a "Gun Free" zone.

To The MSN Team: You obviously either missed my original writing or missed the whole point. I never made a call

to arms. I just said it's naive to believe a "no gun" sign on your' business makes it safer. Quite the opposite, it just

insures that no law abiding citizen will be able to defend their self. I'm not specifically talking about Toby Keith's.

You may also recall, after the Newtown killed his Mom he went straight to a 'GUN FREE' place so he could kill a

bunch.

If his Mom & the shooting range incident proved anything that needs looking at; it's mental health & that

people should not be providing access to guns for people with known mental issues !

(The mother bought the guns as a means to reach out to her son.)

                                                        Love; Louise

The shunning will have no bearing on Wall Street, Starbucks, or Toby Keith. The only financial impact gun-owners have is on the profit margin of gun manufacturers, and frankly, if I was a gun manufacturer, I might have taken advantage of the fear of a Black President myself. That has been extremely profitable for them, but weapons dealers have never been known to rely on ethics when it comes to profits. Fortunately, "the house "has several rooms, VCDL,, just go upstairs to your room and have a tantrum, and don't slam that door.

so, he'll be shunned by my fellow Virginia Citizen's Defense League members. That's right, VCDL in the house!

“‘The NPR of Gun Clubs’: Liberal Gun Club Exists, Hates NRA

by Josh Feldman | 7:57 pm, January 2nd, 2014

The first thing you need to know about the Liberal Gun Club is that aside from general agreement on expansive Second Amendment rights, they have nothing in common with and don’t wish to be associated with the NRA. As one member put it, “We make ourselves a special place where we don’t have to hear about the ‘Kenyan Muslim socialist’ in the White House.”

Oh Vicki, "if they carry a gun all the time then they plan on using it!".  This is the typical propaganda of antigunners, and that we are "bad people".  Well it would be the same context that if some rapist tries to rape you then you defend youself with a board or a frying pan and hurt that poor rapist, it doesn't take a moron to figure out that if a rapist is just gonna rape someone and then is killed that maybe some would figure that is overkill, I mean, any fighting back at all could in theory hurt a rapist, and in socialist terms that means that only the state has the authority to "punish" law breakers.  Your banter seems very bigotted, I mean, you probably consider a gun owners as stereotypical, "the gun owners is a man, not a woman, and a man is never trustworthy".  It just aint true, men are trustworthy, especially if a woman was visitting a bar or restaurant some rapist tries to rape her near the restrooms or in them, or something like that, I once worked in a restaurant/nightclub and there were at least three reported rapes supposedly before I worked there in only two years.
