"Quadrophenia" to hit the road - again

At a quickly called press conference today, Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey announced that they would be taking the album "Quadrophenia" back out on the road, the first time since 1997. While dates and details remain to be worked out, the pair talked about taking it out as a bigger production -- somewhat similar to Roger Waters' elaborate staging of "The Wall" on his current tour.

The press conference is still in progress, with the pair reminiscing about the late Keith Moon and John Entwistle. They'll also be doing other Who classics for the encore - thus the "and more" tag on the poster.

The '97 tour was a large success but basically was a straight run-through of the album with special guests Billy Idol and Gary Glitter (one assumes the latter won't be on board this time around).

There will be 37 dates across the U.S. starting Nov. 1 and continuing into 2013. Check your local markets for on-sale dates, which vary (but start as soon as Friday).
