Randy Newman, professional troublemaker
New online song is his most searing sarcasm yet
Randy Newman. Oscar-winning composer. Grammy-winning artist. But most of all, professional troublemaker.Newman's biting sarcasm dates back to his earlier days with the song "Political Science." More recently he composed the pointed "A Few Words in Defense of Our Country."
Now he's at it again with a new song, "I'm Dreaming" ... of a white president.
He has released "I'm Dreaming" as both a video and a free download via his website. Share with your friends at your own risk. It's getting ugly out there.
Edit: I thought putting the word "sarcasm" in the headline would be a tip-off, but those of you calling Newman a "racist" are missing the point. He is making fun of racists, as a number of other comments have pointed out. You can disagree with his point of view, but he is not advocating racism. Exactly the opposite.
Right on, Randy! Go to the comments section of any political article ' Osambo' 'Obammy"
Remeber the gop southern strategy? Reagan launching his campaign at the site of a MISS lynching?
Not all radical righties are racists, but enough of them are.
Like Bill Maher noted : Bush/Cheney-deficiets don't matter. All of a sudden deficeits do matter and it's Obama's fault. Oh yea, Bush is a white guy, his credit is good, but the Black guy has to pay cash.
At 1st I thought he was being a total racist ****. Seeing the title floored me and I had to listen being a black man. After I actually listened to the song and the lyrics he is actually stating that some white presidents in the past f*^k things up and made really bad decisions.
He is being extremely sarcastic does anyone see it the same way,
