Hank Jr. Continues Anti-Obama Crusade

Rolling Stone interrogates Bocephus with predictably embarrassing results

By percy thrillington Jul 11, 2012 2:19PM
Once you get a rabid anti-Obama conservative talking, it usually doesn't take long before their reasoning becomes... well... embarrassing to everyone involved (excluding the speaker, of course). Rolling Stone interviewed Hank Williams, Jr., who has gotten a lot of attention after having compared the president to Hitler on ESPN and lost his song placement as a result. Not to worry, however, as Bocephus claims to have sold $200,000 in t-shirts since the incident ("in this economy?") and is thus eager to continue to ride his new brand until the wheels fall off.

Here's an excerpt from the interview

How has your opinion of Obama changed from when he got elected until now?
Worse.
Why?
I mean, it's a zero. If I was at my office and I could get to my Internet and list the things like where our economy is – you don't want to go there with me. I mean, the guy is the worst. Giveaway programs, hates America in the first place, forget about the flag. [Imitates Obama] "That's one of those big rich fat cats that makes $35,000 a year," you know what I mean? Oh yeah.
Why do you think he hates America?
We have borrowed ourselves into our poor grandchildren. Now my opinion has gone down. It was pretty low to start with. It's really gone down since then. I mean, there's a whole lot of us out here, we flip the tube off when that guy comes on. We're not listening and we ain't watching.
Yeah but, why do you think he hates America?
Oh, you know I don't know. I don't know about that but it's kind of obvious. I guess when you take a tour, a world tour, to apologize for America. He did that, you know?
Which tour was that?
You know, "We're sorry." Going on a world tour saying, "We're going to be be even with everyone else, we only have 6 percent of the population." Yeah. I wouldn't be going to the duck blinds with any of those guys. It was some of the greatest inspiration I ever had that because that song of mine, "We Don't Apologize for America," there's a guy named Marcus Luttrell that was a lone survivor of the Navy Seals, and he said, "I want to thank you for writing that because every military person in this country is going to buy that song." That's the ones that I care about. Barack and his? I could care less. I'm writing for the ones that mean something to me. Oh, we're pulling in here. Adios, cousin!

There is plenty of useful criticism of this administration.  I support the President, but I also have quarrels with him.  Unlike Hank, however, I know what those quarrels are.

Typical hater with no specifics and no idea on how he or any of his like would improve the country.  It's so easy to hate.  Maybe, though, ol' Hank little Jr. should consider that the target of his misguided wrath is actually the one who is committed to improving the lives of the people who support Hankie's music.  His beloved conservative pals who live to sling falsehoods and avoid debate on the actual issues couldn't care less about his fan base and their families.  Think for yourself a little bit, Henry and quit spouting off generalities that you can't support.  Your act is getting old.

yes maybe hank williams jr. is on an anti obama crusade,  but the real story is that rolling stone is on a WE LOVE OBAMA crusade.   That is what the story is really about.  A continuing story every month in their magazine.    it is like,   let us find a famous redneck to put down  our  "DEAR LEADER OBAMA.   nothing but a style of propaganda,   Lets forget the country is much worse due to him being president.  .  but  of course let all the obama zombies hear Obama say,    Obama says  "  oh I have Jay Z and Lil Wayne on my ipod,"  and it is like  OMFG,    Obama is so cool and hip.    never mind how much he sucks as president.   lol

Sometimes, with that down home lazy sounding language, it seems hard to find the point of some statements. It is easy though, to tell that there is a proud American behind those words.

That is all that anyone has to remember and there is nothing embarassing about that.

Nothing embarrasing about what Hank said. It's the journalist (non reporter, he's spouting opinion here) that's embarrasing in his phrasing of the introduction of the interview. This is America, Hank is entitled to his opinion too. Shame on the name calling by the writer.
