'Katie' hosts 'General Hospital' 50th extravaganza
Daytime talk show goes behind the scenes with Port Charles locals
With the "General Hospital" golden anniversary celebration in full swing in Port Charles, the Countdown to the "General Hospital" 50th Anniversary Extravaganza on "Katie" has begun. Katie Couric's daytime talker has released an exclusive video of Rebecca Herbst (Liz), Sean Blakemore (Shawn), Leslie Charleson (Monica) and John J. York (Mac) talking serious soap, and there are more interviews to come.
Katie Couric went behind the scenes at "General Hospital" for a "Katie" episode airing Thursday, April 4. The anniversary fest includes chats with Anthony Geary (Luke), Genie Francis (Laura), Kin Shriner (Scott), Finola Hughes (Anna) and Kelly Monaco (Sam) and a rocking performance from Rick Springfield (Noah). Plus, Couric will share a sneak preview of her first ever soap cameo.
The "Katie" Countdown to the "General Hospital" 50th Anniversary Extravaganza promises to deliver a new, exclusive clip featuring the "General Hospital" cast each day.
First up is "General Hospital" Stars Talk Tackling Tough Topics. The video clip features Rebecca Herbst, Sean Blakemore, Leslie Charleson and John J. York reflecting on the serious issues their characters have faced, including Liz's rape, Shawn's PTSD, Monica's breast cancer and Stone's AIDS-related death.
New videos will be posted on the "Katie" Countdown to "General Hospital" page, which also links to a poll asking fans about their own favorite memories.
"General Hospital" fans will find more behind the scenes fun from Couric's visit on the "20/20" special "General Hospital – The Real Soap Dish," airing Saturday, April 6.
