Actress in late-stage negotiations to star in movie

Days before she co-hosts the Golden Globes, Tina Fey is in late-stage negotiations to star as the female lead in Disney's sequel to "The Muppets," sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.
Bing: More about 'The Muppets'
Fey would join Ricky Gervais as the human stars of the movie, which sees the felt-and-fur-lined puppets engaged in a European-set adventure. "Modern Family" star Ty Burrell also has a leading role.

The script is being kept secret, but the character descriptions point to a caper. Burrell, as first revealed by THR, is playing a lazy Interpol inspector.
If a deal is finalized, sources say Fey would play a Russian gulag prison guard.
James Bobin, who directed 2011's "The Muppets," is back as helmer and co-wrote the screenplay with Nicholas Stoller.
David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman, who produced "Muppets," also are back to produce the sequel, which will shoot in London this month.

Fey's most recent feature role was 2010's "Date Night." She next will co-star opposite Paul Rudd in "Admission," a comedy set for release in March. Fey worked with Gervais in 2009's "The Invention of Lying," which Gervais starred in and co-wrote and co-directed.
The Emmy-winning star and creator of NBC's "30 Rock," who is stepping into Gervais' shoes as co-host with Amy Poehler of the Globes on Sunday, is repped by WME, 3 Arts Entertainment and Ziffren Brittenham.
Some parents thought storyline was insensitive towards kids with food allergies
Disney Channel has pulled an episode of "Jessie" from its lineup after parents complained about the storyline. In the episode "Quitting Cold Koala," the character of Stuart, who can only eat gluten-free foods, is portrayed as being high-maintenance and annoying and even has pancakes thrown at him.
Bing: More about 'Jessie' | More about Debby Ryan
Mom Amy Rasievich watched the episode with her two kids and told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette they all were upset by what they saw. She told the newspaper her kids are often isolated from others because of the limitations on their diets and she felt the episode only promoted intolerance of those with food allergies.
Rasievich started a petition on Change.org to try and convince Disney Channel to stop airing the episode.
Disney Channel has since responded to the backlash on the network's Facebook page:
"To our viewers, we received your feedback about [the] 'Jessie' episode which some of you accessed early on Video-on-Demand. We are removing this particular episode from our regular programming schedule and will re-evaluate its references to gluten restrictions in the character's diet. Please accept our apologies for the upset this episode caused you and your family. We value your feedback and thank you for watching Disney Channel."

The craziest households are sometimes the most entertaining

What makes "Modern Family" about a modern family? The Pritchett family is big, sure, but families have long been big. The Pritchetts are weird, but weird families are as old civilization. When "Modern Family" debuted in 2009, audiences loved it because the Pritchetts were complicated. Their genealogy is confusing. Their kin are all a little off-kilter. And some members hail from as far away as Asia and South America.

Long gone are the days of two parents, 2.5 kids and a dog, and as the times have changed, so have TV families. In a world of constant divorce, remarriage, cosmopolitan lifestyles and every kind of childhood, TV clans get more convoluted than ever. Some of these families are loving and wholesome; others are conniving and fratricidal. But one thing's for sure: They're hard to puzzle out.
To celebrate another successful season of "Modern Family," we offer some of television's most tangled family trees.

We rate the hottest mothers in movies

By Mary Pols
Special to MSN Movies
In honor of Mother's Day, MSN has put together a list of incendiary cinematic mothers, or in more simple terms, hot mamas. Given how many beautiful actresses there are in the world, you'd expect this list could be endless, but the truth is not that many roles call for actresses to play women who are both mothers and sultry. Mothers in the movies are usually more to the ladylike than the earthy and seductive. Femmes fatales don't have babies. Women in rom-coms tend to be husband shopping, not producing children. But still, we found 13 mothers from the movies who are anything but matronly.
