Is Ziva going to die on 'NCIS'?
Trailer suggests actress Cote de Pablo's goodbye could be for good
It's bad enough that Cote de Pablo is breaking fans' hearts by leaving "NCIS." But are the writers going to kill off her character Ziva in the process?
That's certainly what's implied in a new teaser CBS released this week previewing what its billing as the "biggest season premiere in NCIS history." The trailer includes a heartbroken Tony (Michael Weatherly) wondering aloud where Ziva is, an explosion, and Homeland Security Director Tom Morrow (Alan Dale) telling Leon (Rocky Carroll) that Ziva David is the next target. Yikes!
Last month, de Pablo, who has been on "NCIS" for eight years, announced she was leaving the top-rated drama and reportedly turned down two sizable raises. Now the network and the show's producers are casting a successor for Ziva, a character named Bishop, who will join the show during mid-season episodes around January. Until Bishop joins the team, several rotating characters will sub for Ziva.
As for the teaser, it does offer a sliver of hope by showing Tony and Ziva together. But the romance will have to be a short-lived one because de Pablo is just appearing in the first two episodes of Season 11.
"NCIS" Season 11 premieres Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
Ziva's departure is a reflection of Real Life. It's sad, but inevitable for her and for all the characters by and by. NCIS under this and its predecessor appellations has been in existence for a long time. There have been generations of agents. Some retired, some burned out and either transferred or quit, and some have died either on or off the job.
The awakening of Ziva's humanity hinted at in earlier episodes when she got misty about the weight of responsibility she felt tends to make me favor that she finally burns out and quits to take up floral arranging or painting to release her creative spirit. An alternate might be to make her an instructor at FLETC (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center if I recall correctly). Either removes her from the weekly episodes, yet leaves her free to make a guest appearance now and again.
I surly don't want
Ziva td leave the show, but she must do what she feels she must do. I just hope they let her gogracefully, she is very talented +beautiful. Lesley
I don't want her to go , but don't kill her off so maybe she could show up sometimes
I think they should make it look like she is dead but as in all good mysteries have the last scene being her and Tony....then Tony waking up.....was it a dream or something else? Yep, they did that when it looked like she went down on the freighter but this time let us hang until Cote can make a "guest" appearence. Or, only Gibbs or Vance knows she is alive.....
Don't you dare kill off Ziva! First of all, killing off a character is simply being lazy. I am certain that the producer and writers of the most watched show on television can find a much more interesting way to have a character leave the show. At a personal level, it would be a great disservice to Cote de Pablo who was very instrumental in the meteoric rise of NCIS to become the most watched show on TV.
Few viewers know that NCIS was simply a throw in, as part of a package of shows that was bought by CBS. The network only put NCIS on the air in order to get another show that it was interested it in. Oh, by the way, NCIS outlived the other show!
Absolutely no "getting together with Denutzo before she leaves. Ziva is too classy a lady to get involved with Denutzo.
He is so shallow, no talent, wanna-be actor. He is self centered, big ego, impressed with himself but no one else is......
Really wish they would limit his time on the weekly show to 10 minutes per episode. "Mr. Know it all does not add anything to the show.
I would like to see Ziva go back to Mossad and then make appearances as need be
I just hate it that she is leaving don't know if I can watch the show without her in it. :(.
