'Atlanta' cast member confirms that she's exiting series after four seasons

What was revealed Tuesday via Wetpaint, Bravo officialy confirmed Wednesday -- that Sheree Whitfield is leaving "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" cast after four seasons.

 

The ex-wife of former NFL player Bob Whitfield and frequent sparring partner of fellow castmate NeNe Leakes took to the web on Tuesday to explain her decision. She stated, "After four solid seasons of helping Bravo build the show into its most successful 'Housewives' franchise, I have decided to leave. The direction the show is going in is no longer a fit for my lifestyle. I’m tired of the fighting and the cattiness."

Perhaps this will give her more time to complete the many projects she so famously began on camera during her four-year run on the show, including her clothing line, She by Sheree. "I want to be part of something that empowers and inspires women to not only be healthy, but to treat themselves with respect," Whitfield continued. "I wish the rest of the women the best of luck. I’m thrilled to say I’m now a free agent and am already fielding offers." Wetpaint reports that Whitfield is also focusing on a new fitness venture.

Bravo released confimation of her departure on Wednesday: "We have enjoyed working with Sheree as part of 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta,'" it read. "We wish her all the best in the future."

That is the best idea she can do. First of all let's change the name of the show from Real Housewives because who is married. Secondly, let's keep this real and show how Sheree is really living. Stop being a fraud and acting like you got everything. Who will miss her definitely not me. So see ya!!!!!

LOL. any mother who would try and convince her future son-n-law to purchase a 40k ring to impress the masses is a fool. clearly he could not afford it, he acknowledged he only worked part time. but no, her insane suggestion was 4 him 2 work over time! how irresponsible can one be? the couple lives in an apartment! most sensible/rational/sa​ne/wise parents would suggest they save 4, oh i don't know-a home maybe! sheree is a fool and phony. sheree is a phony fool. i want to know "what did she do after she had her first child, to when she started dating bob whitfield?" maybe during that period is when she became sophistication & elegant, as she likes 2 remind us. b/c it appears she was "new money" when she was with bob, for those few years, and had nothing of her own B4 bob.

Forget Sheree, Nene is the most despicable humane being.  How does she is get away with that "JIVE' talk. She is  very ugly and no money can change that. She openly critized Sheree about her house not being finished. That only proves that she has some serious issues, that the only thing that makes her happy is seeing all of her friends "fail" that includes all of you if you were on the show. It is obvious that she has a jealous heart and is ready to step on anyone who gets in her way.  What you wish for others may happen to you "good or bad".  As far as Kim goes non of those women should judge, I like the fact that she may have made some mistakes but she  doesn't pretend to be someone she isn't. I don't approve of her past, but the past is the past.  What is Nene pretending to be an actress? A model? she is hustling like the rest of them.  Remember Nene was A "stripper" I sure would'nt be judging anyone about there lifestyle.  I really hope that eventually someone will finally shut her mouth.    Read: mokieman spell on this he narrowed it down the best!

Good riddance! I am keeping my fingers crossed while I key this message that, Kim tag-a-long, lying, two-personalities, need-a-ASprin out the butt leaves with her! *ugh* Sheree was cool at the beginning of the series, but she turned str8 Eviline this past season. CLearly though she's a pitiful wannabe.  What a way to make an exit and think karma doesn't exist. However, I do wish her blessings, health and RICHness (like NeNe) lmao

Wow, I don't blame Sheree because some of those women are really mean.  Especially NeNe.  Why do they want to interact with each other that way?  And what is happening with Phaedra and Kandi because they are wearing push up bras that keep pushing 'them' up higher and higher to make their boobs look bigger and give them cleavage they don't have or really need.  Anyway it looks too phony...seriously.  They are trying to look as tacky as the rest of the cast because they all dress like hookers!  Kandi, I especially thought you would have more class than that.....!  Actually Kim attire is beyond hooker tacky.  I am watching the show less and less because of the stress and hassles between all of them.....who really needs it.

I am sooo glad this B*&%$ is leaving!!!  She along with Kim has kept so much stuff going on than a little bit.  She's a fake and a habitual liar. She is so jealous of NeNe it ain't funny. She gossips about every single lady on the show and then say she didn't say it. She wants to be a DIVA so bad that she is living way above her means. Remember the episode when she spent $10,000 on a picture and furnished her daughter's apartment. For a person to constantly be yelling about child support, why is she spending all that money on shoes, clothes, and cars? And NeNe called her on it, and the best she could do was say something about NeNe's son. And once again NeNe put her in "check". And how in the hell did Kim get her own show? It is so evident that she is using Kroy for his money, and this stupid, ignorant fool is marrying this whore. Who in the hell is going to watch it? She is boring as hell. We all know that marriage ain't going to last. I do not feel sorry for Sheree at all. If she wasn't such a bitch, the show could have been good for her. But I understand she was fired. She just couldn't hang with the rest of the ladies. The next to go should be Kandi. She has never been married, so why is she on "Real Housewives of Atlanta" in the first place. Neither was Kim. At least NeNe was married when the show began (and still is). Bye Sheree and here's' hoping we never have to look at your man looking self!

You hear she quit, you hear she was fired, either way I'm glad she left to better herself and the image of women in general.

Shows like Bravo's demean women.

Sheree is better than Bravo.

Most of the TV/Entertainment industry is run by gays and they really don't like women. They use them to get next to the men they want. They use women like cattle. Housewives is a good example of the gay Hollywood disconnect with American morals and values.

I like Sheree, and will miss her. Her "Who gon check me, boo?" is classic. Cynthia and her lame husband, are the ones who should be going. Boring as hell. I just hope they don't bring Marlo Hampton, with her man voice, on as a new regular.

Poor poor Sheree  or is it "Fake by Sheree".  The only thing that I can say about her is that she is a mom.  She needs to get a grip and realize that she married into money, via the NFL.  She is now like the rest of the 80% of Americans, me included.  Middle Class.  There is nothing wrong with being middle class.  No matter where you are at in life there is one thing you should always ask yourself.  Class or Trash, do I show class in everything I do or am I trashy.  Remember you can not make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.  I do wish Sheree and her children the best going forward.

This chick is delusional.  She helped Bravo....?!  This is what being so self-absorbed got you Sheree...fired.  She and Kim are so stupid (except Kim moved on the the next sugga daddy once he got his $10 million contract - hooker).  NeNe was so right again about them its not funny.  Like NeNe said she'd be a fool to sit up there on a panel and not do ANYTHING.  She didn't even need to say Sheree's name for you to know who she was talking about.  Now what is Kim going to do to stay relevant?  Kroy?!  Paleez.  He's as boring as she is.  Bravo is constantly trying to promote her and I have no idea why.  If NeNe leaves, there is no RHOA period.

Sheree, you may want to check Bravo b/c, other sites are saying, you were fired for not bringing enough drama.  I believe Sheree b/c you can tell, she was looking for drama to bring to the show but, fell short.  I was thinking, she was digging deep when she mentioned her daughter getting married.
