Blake: Cassadee Pope was 'destined to be a star'

'Voice' coach gushes over Season 3 winner

"Voice" coach Blake Shelton is still in awe of his winning contestant Cassadee Pope, insisting the singer was destined to become a superstar. During her very first blind audition, all four judges -- Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine -- turned their chairs around for the 23-year-old pop-rock singer.

It was during that very first meeting that the country crooner told Pope, "An artist isn't an artist unless they're not like anybody else. You can look at these three coaches sitting here. There's nobody else on earth like them, and they're superstars. There is nobody else like you, and I believe with 200 per cent of my heart that you, Cassadee, are a superstar. That's the truth." And months later, with the Season 3 title to her name and a record deal with Universal Music Group, Shelton is still enamored with his shining singer.

He tells the Hollywood Reporter, "She's magic. She's just a special artist that God gave a little extra to. I wish I could sit here and scientifically explain to y'all what it is about her, but the truth is none of us can explain it. She's just one of those special people that is destined to be a star. Here's the truth: I'm here for Cassadee as long as she wants me to be here for her. That girl is family to me, I love her so much. I know a lot about the entertainment industry and I’m going to defend her against what I know about it, and be there as a friend."

 

Season 4 of "The Voice" debuts Monday, March 25, on NBC.

Blake is the best coach on the show simply because he allows his performers to be themselves and just finds those hidden areas of talent they don't even know they have......He is intelligent music wise and brings out the best without over doing it....That is why Terry and Cassadee went to the finals.....Terry, and Nicholas, will both do very well.

As for Cassadee, Blkae found the country-pop side of her and brought that front and center....She has "it" and will be a major star.....She tells a story with all it's emotion when she sings, something few can do today......In time Cassadee will follow singers like Jennifer Hudson, Katherine McPhee and Carrie Underwood and move into TV and films besides recordings and concerts!!!

Congrat to Cassadee and Blake, see you two in March!

I wanted either Cassadee and Terry to win, both are great artist and so unique. I love Blake, I am a huge country music fan and he is one of my favorite. He is so down to earth, I got to see him this summer in Burlington, Iowa at Steamboat Days!! I'm so happy for him and Miranda doing so well in their careers, they both deserve it!!

I never thought she was all that great.  Every episone I was surprised she was still there.  Not that she's awful, she just didnt impress me.  I thought some of the others were better.

Cassadee has real talent!!  Hugh fan, can't wait to see what her album will be like and which kind of music she will end up singing.  She sure can make you feel a country song.  Her version of Over You was amazing.

Cassadee and Terry are certainly the winners of this seasons competition. I hope we hear more from the both of them. I don't have a problem with any of the coaches, but Blake seems to let his people be themselves with just a little tweeking. Can't wait to see how far they both go.

Cassadee was my choice after the second week. I was worried about Trevin until his last song. His diction was terrible. She seems very genuine and can sing anything with a lot of heart.

There was a lot of talent this time. It's nice to listen to singers that can sing, and try to win. I don't like to go through all the crap other shows feature, to find some talent. This is a TALENT show, not a joke.

So glad she won!  She was by far the most entertaining!  She has an incredible voice!  Blake is so downhome and such a nice guy, she couldn't have picked a better one to coach her too!  Good Luck Cassadee but I don't think you're gonna need it!  You're already a 'STAR' in our eyes!

Usually it's the most talented that get the best deals, and shine after the show. If they're still around in a few years then OK. Otherwise, they have their 15 minutes, then fall by the wayside..

I can't believe anyone still watches these shows.  They're all fake, frauds at best and the talent is well, untalented.  I don't know which shows I dislike more, the "real" housewife crapola, the "fake" storage unit shows or the singing competitions.

After ensuring that Amanda and (especially) Trevin Hunte would go peacefully, the could have re-named the show "Blake Shelton's Bought and Paid for The Fix is In." There was no one that held a candle to Trevin Hunte, period!

Not like anybody else?  That would be more like Nicholas David.  He was not like anybody else.  Cassadee sounded just like all the other pop singers to me.
