Katherine Webb headed to 'Dancing With the Stars'?

Beauty queen and famous girlfriend could be extending her 15 minutes

By MSN TV Jan 21, 2013 2:31PM

First, a Sports Illustrated photo shoot. Then, a gig with "Inside Edition." And now a possible spot on the upcoming season of "Dancing With the Stars"? Well, that's what's being reported by Page Six of the New York Post.

Bing: More about 'Dancing With the Stars' | Katherine Webb

That's right. Former Miss Alabama Katherine Webb could be trading in her tiara for some dancing shoes on the hit ABC dancing competition series. Her claim to fame? As you'll recall, Webb, girlfriend of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron, became an Internet star when announcer Brent Musberger fawned excessively (and awkwardly) over her during the recent BCS national title game. If the gossip is true, the social media sensation has been offered a spot for Season 16 but has yet to reveal whether she's accepted the opportunity.

Plus: 15 TV actors who have worked with Kevin Bacon | Canceled or renewed

What do you think? Would you root for Katherine Webb on the dance floor?

"Dancing With the Stars" returns in March on ABC.

If Katherine keeps her boyfriend as she moves through the on slot of fame, then she is a truly beautiful woman. If she dumps AJ and moves on to bigger and better things, then shame on her for using him.

Dancing with the Stars has had any number of (un)stars on the program and it has not made it any less a fun and worthy show to watch. If a wonderful and talented man who was a war veteran, and disfigured can be the hit that he was, why not Miss Alabama?

Brent Musburger didn't "fawn excessively (and awkwardly) over her during the recent BCS national title game". It was a blow out!! Musburger needed something to talk about in order to fill space and time. The cameraman pointed the camera at her and Musburger commented. Yes, she is beautiful, I get that, but he also commented on the QB's mom being beautiful too. So, can we all just get off the pile of Musburger? There is no need!

Oh, and by the way, I hope she does well on DWTS. I'm not a fan of the show (reality TV sucks) but, people get their fame in different ways and go on to do bigger and better things (Tonya Harding not part of this case, of course).

Get over it people ... how many years has this show been going on, and how many "so called" stars have been on it. I would much rather see this girl dance than Jerry Springer, or one of those stupid Kardashians, among a few others. I would almost bet she does very good!

Okay, now we're debating the title of the show? The term "Stars" in the title is subject to interpretation. What qualifies as a Star? A gaseous spatial body? So I guess a Star Student isn't a star? Being a state beauty pageant winner makes her a star in her state. And look at the show for what it is anyway. They aren't going to get A-list celebrities because those people are busy! Making movies that you watch, going on tour to promote their newest album, etc. etc.

Sometimes the trip to the top is easy-staying there is the hard part.

Very attractive woman, and she must have some talent or she wouldn't be Ms. Alabama.

My money's on her-go girl.

The show is called "Dancing With The Stars".Being a state beauty pageant winner does not make one a star, nor does being the girlfriend of a college quarterback. The producers of this show need to look for people who actually are stars to compete or change the title to "Dancing With The Wannabes".

Dancing with the stars?  What stars?  You mean...Dancing with those that once had their face flashed on camera.

I'm sure Katherine Webb will do fine on Dancing with the Stars.  As a matter of fact, I'll make a prediction:  she'll win if she decides to dance.

Wow. I guess we know how beautiful she really is. It's a surefire comment on a woman's looks when a bunch of people start hating on someone who is truly attractive. Is she a celeb? No. Famous because of her looks? Sure. Gisele Bundchen was the highest paid model ever at over $8 million a year. And one of the most visible, and appeared in several films and commercials, because of her looks. If she can use her God given beauty to better her situation in life, improve herself, and improve the lives of others(as she has said she would) then why not? Why hate? You have to get somewhere in life before you can give back. And she is a college graduate at least. How many famous people who are celebs can say that? So, with that said, "Go get em' Kat. Best of luck!"

She should take the opportunity to dance on DWITS because this will launch her career in anything she wants to do. Brent Musberger was the one who discovered her and she became and instant hit. If she accepts the offer to dance on DWTS I believe that she will go a long way. She's already a media star.

It would depend on whether she can actually dance or not that I would root for her.  She really isn't a star. But then again, either was Bristol Palin.

Sure is a bunch of haters on here. She is a beautiful young lady. Give her a chance. Hell ,all we are doing is sitting at our job or at home putting down someone you don't even know. I hope she does well in her life. I think she is a Beautiful Southern Bell. ha ha ha

great idea , never heard of most of the stars anyway and she is very attractive and would be easier on the backs of the pro's after all the jumbos they have had to endure.

Why not?  Seems like a good kid. I have no problem with young folks getting a leg up rather than a hand out in life. She's been so gracious and down to earth with all the media attention a few weeks ago, I'd like to see her move forward in life, regardless of whether or not she stays with McCarron in the long run.  Good grief, if those bone-head Kardashians can get wealthy for simply breathing air (can't see they're good at anything other than self-promotion), why not elevate a sharp, good person.

If she wants to do it, I wish her the best of luck!

I'm thankful I have more to do in life than waste my precious time on this earth watching crap like this on tv.Never watched, never will.

She would be great on DWTS. I don't recall that she did anything to ask for all of the attention that she has received and for people to put her down is just being 'Mean'.  I wish her all of the best in the future and if DWTS is in her future, good luck to her. She could be the winner.

I would rather see Miss America Mallory Hagan do the show
