Adam Levine: I want Blake to lose
'Voice' star sounds off on good friend and rival coach

"Voice" coach Adam Levine has his sights set on defeating his friend and rival Blake Shelton, wanting to prevent the country singer from earning his third win. Although Season 3 ended in December, the Maroon 5 frontman is gearing up for the next season of NBC's hit singing competition, which premieres in March.

The one thing Levine is looking forward to the most is having one of his contestants win, just so he can see Shelton lose. He tells "Access Hollywood": "I just want him to fail. It has less to do with my success. I just want to see him lose ... I need to shut his mouth. I need to win so I can shut his face." Shelton is the only judge on the show who has seen two of his hopefuls claim the top prize: The past two winners, Jermaine Paul and Cassadee Pope, were both mentored by the Grammy winner.

Although the returning judges are keen to focus on their rivalry, they are also getting to know their two new co-stars, Shakira and Usher, who have replaced Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green in the big red chairs. Levine says, "Same old me and Blake, same old thing. Shakira and Usher have been fantastic. I know that Usher, he's going to get crazy competitive, which I love. I love that. Shakira is finding her way. Don't underestimate Shakira. She’s got claws ... Good, competitive claws."
I rarely.....very rarely watch Idol or this show...unless my wife turns them on and then I'll usually get on my lap top and try to ignore it.
Maybe Shelton is just better at spotting talent than the others and better at developing that talent?
Christina adds nothing to the show really......she just seems like a has been that morphed into some kind of chubby clown with those outfits and makeup....and it's very obvious she has no idea what talent is when it comes to others.
