"Bachelor" Sean Lowe has confessed he only gave controversial contestant Tierra LiCausi a rose out of sympathy. Over the past few episodes, one particular bachelorette has been standing out of the crowd, but not for the right reasons. LiCausi, 24, has been the bane of her competitors' existence, with her two-sided personality and penchant for drama.

On Monday's episode, the 13 remaining girls vying for Lowe's love were at the tipping point after LiCausi confronted a couple of her fellow co-stars for excluding her from a conversation. LiCausi found Lowe while he was spending one-on-one time with another woman, and she threatened to leave the show, but he managed not only to talk her into staying but gave her a coveted rose before the stressful rose ceremony. In his People.com blog, Lowe admits he gave her the rose because he could see she was hurting, but he had no idea of the drama that was happening when he wasn't around. He explains, "I knew she was having a tough time with the other women and needed more reassurance than anyone else ... What I didn't know was how much the other women disliked her. For the most part, Tierra was all smiles around me so I didn't know she was showing the women another side. When I found her crying on the steps, I knew she doubted whether or not she should be there."

He explained further: "I'll admit my decision to give her the rose was a symbolic Band-Aid. I wanted Tierra to be happy and I wanted to fix whatever was wrong with her. Isn't that what boyfriends are supposed to do? It was obviously a rash decision that was not received well by the other women. But please keep in mind I had not seen the Tierra they had." Thanks to Lowe handing out an early rose, LiCausi and the 10 other remaining contestants will continue their journey next week when "The Bachelor" airs on both Monday and Tuesday night.

"The Bachelor" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

He would be crazy not to propose to Ashlee, she is gorgeous, mature, sincere and good hearted.

He got rid of Amanda so he's either not stupid or not being told what to do for ratings. She's the first one to ignore everyone & turned on the the charm when Sean came into the room. I think Sean is smarter than everyone is giving him credit for. Leave him alone & enjoy the show. I may root for someone to leave but we can wait to see what he wants. I hope it's the right one. Of course, you never know if it's the right one until you've REALLY been with someone months instead of hours or one night. Go, Sean

I saw the headline, and only clicked on it to comment...WHO WATCHES THIS CRAP!!   Talk about getting a life of your own!  SO fake!  I don't even have to watch one minute of this "show" to know ti is not only fake, but insulting.  Women groveling for the attention of some made up glamor boy. Disgusting.

The idea to give a rose to a manipulative woman is irresponsible at best - do you REALLY want the best fit as a future partner Sean, or are you just playing games?. I may not watch for the rest of this particular season while Sean is  the Bachelor.I was quite disgusted monday night.

Are we to believe this man has ANY brains? You mean to tell me he didn't see Courtney and all her drama? She and Tierra are 2 peas in a pod! WAKE UP Sean...Your "excuse" for giving her a rose holds as much water as a sieve. You send women home because you don't "feel" the romantic connection, yet you keep one out of "pity"...Hmmmm, sounds a bit STUPID to me! Just giving more credence to that box of rocks (and they are getting BIGGER), that you must have for brains. Once again, ABC screws up..for many reasons.

Tierra is a nut case and needs to be booted!  I hope he doesn't keep her around (due to producers wishing higher ratings) for it would really piss me off.  Keeping her around would take away a possible "good" woman for him that would not happen if he sent her home!

I don't even watch the show and i bet good money the producers ask him to make sure she got the rose. With "her two-sided personality and penchant for drama", they definitely want to keep her on the show for ratings

Who wants to bet she makes it to the last 3 or 4?
