Former 'Jersey Shore' star eager to get back into reality TV spotlight

Former "Jersey Shore" star Deena Cortese has her sights set on competing on the upcoming season of "Dancing With the Stars." Now that her days in the Seaside Heights, N.J., beach house are over, the 26-year-old is keen to get back into the reality TV spotlight, and this time she's trading in drinks for dancing.

Cortese shared her desire to hit the ballroom with Wetpaint Entertainment, insisting her background as a dancer might actually help her win the coveted Mirrorball Trophy. She explains, "I love dancing, I always have. And I’ve been dancing for a really long time. I think I could go really far on the show." If Cortese were given the chance to choose her partner, the four-foot eleven "meatball" would prefer someone closer to her in stature.

She adds, "(My ideal partner would) definitely be one of the shorter guys. I think it’d look weird if I was with someone too tall. Mark Ballas would be amazing! I love him." If she gets her wish, Cortese would be the second "Jersey Shore" star to try ballroom dancing. Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino attempted his best Foxtrot in Season 11, but he was eliminated during the fourth week of competition.
"Dancing With the Stars" returns in March on ABC.
