'Deadliest Catch' Stars to Return
Phil Harris' sons will return to the unscripted series despite the loss of other key captains
Discovery Channel announced that the seventh season of "Deadliest Catch," the hit unscripted series about crab fisherman will indeed air, though without several captains from previous seasons. Jake and Josh Harris, whose father Phil captained the Cornelia Marie, and whose death was played out on the air last season, have agreed to return. "Our Dad made a tremendous connection with so many fans and it is such a fitting tribute to his life that we, his sons, can remain fishing on the boat that he skippered for so many years," they said in a statement.

After Discovery Channel issued a breach of contract lawsuit against Jonathan and Andy Hillstrand, captains of the Time Bandit, the siblings declined to participate in the show. As did fan favorite Sig Hansen, Captain of the Northwestern, who decided not to appear as a show of solidarity for his friends and fellow fisherman. His brother Edgar, however, left the door open to being involved in the upcoming season. "It's a possibility, yes," he told KIRO news in Seattle, where the Northwestern is based. "It depends on things that I probably cannot discuss at this time."
With shooting scheduled to begin next week, it remains unclear whether the show's other remaining star, Keith Colburn, who captains the Wizard, will be involved.

The first few years of this show were great. Then when the fishing, the dangers aboard, the horrific weather and huge seas weren't enough they started adding in the staged drama. The last couple years have been hard for me to watch. The only entertaining things left were the basic elements that made the show good in the first place. I prefer the adventure over the drama.
Oh and by the way gee wee, it wasn't Billy Joel that wrote those lyrics, it was written by Don Henley and performed by the Eagles....FYI.

I hope Andy and Jonathon don't sell the t-shirt store. Without this contract
they don't have enough crab quotas to keep the boat afloat. I haven't watched
the show. I am married to a fisherman and that's entertaining enough. He says
if DC wants a real show they should go out on a trawler in 35 foot seas and 50 knot winds and watch a 278,000 pound bag of pollack come aboard. When something goes wrong there the damage can't be staged.
I thought deadliest catch was just that, men on boats catching crab in the deadliest weather and water. We saw the crew change many times and is what it is.....a show of men catching crab that nobody wants to do.
The captains were fine and had interesting personalities but they didn't make up the whole show.
My heart broke when I heard on the news that Phil died. I love this show and all of the Captains! In my opinion Jonathan and Sig were the most interesting to watch. I would like to say I would never watch this show again without the key Captains but curiousity may get the better of me! It depends on how the DC handles the promotion of the new Captains and crews. They could change my mind. We will see. Good luck to Josh and Jake!

show. Without the Northwestern and Time Bandit, you have NO Show!!!! Hope DC enjoys the drop in
ratings this season. Thanks for screwing up a great show, DC...way to go on that one.
Maybe I'll take up knitting.
