Report: Carly Rose's family fuming at LeAnn Rimes

Was 'X Factor' runner-up unjustly blamed for bizarre performance?

According to TMZ, the family of Carly Rose Sonenclar is livid at LeAnn Rimes for reportedly trashing the Season 2 "X Factor" runner-up to deflect from her own problems. The pair dueted on Rimes' signature hit, "How Do I Live," on Wednesday night's show.

After the bizarre performance fueled Internet-wide speculation about Rimes' well-being, TMZ reported that Rimes, through a representative, insisted that she was not drunk or in any way impaired. Instead, she blamed Sonenclar, saying: "I was trying to help this 13-year-old girl who was having some trouble with the song." Rimes added that Sonenclar was "nervous and had trouble hitting the right notes."

TMZ quotes an unnamed source close to Sonenclar's mother and other relatives as saying they "can't believe LeAnn threw their daughter under the bus, and that it was clear -- Carly Rose was a pro and even out-performed LeAnn at her own song."

Rimes later claimed she never provided a quote, TMZ says. However, the gossip website adds: "Her rep specifically gave us the quote and told us we could use it." (In fairness to Rimes, it is common practice for entertainment publicists to invent quotes for their clients without their knowledge -- especially if the clients are unreachable and there is a publicity crisis. However, it is also considered bad form for clients to contradict their own representatives to reporters.)

On Thursday night, Tate Stevens was crowned the Season 2 "X Factor" winner.

Someone, though I couldn't tell which (or both) were horribly off key.  But to be fair, they both carried on and acted like a pair of divas. Don't care for the hand actions myself.   I couldn't stand LeAnn's R&B Pop vocals.  For crying out loud, just SING the song, I don't need to hear every freaking note in between the scales!

Neither one floated my boat.

its true, carly had major problems with the songs. She could hit the notes right with it. The melody didn't work with her style.

Little Carly Rose sounded exactly like she looks in that picture.  Screechy, off-key, and like a little kid playing karaoke on Christmas morning.

Carly would never had won anyways even with the drunk Rimes....Tate was way too superior than anyone on there....And please next year get rid of all those screaming tiny boppers in the audience...Leave the babies at home

Wow, I hate to admit this, but most of the commenters here are being way too harsh on Leann.  She's a human being like the rest of us, and like the rest of us she has problems.  She's just reported on by tabloid hacks to make money.  I'm sure all of you wouldn't mind having your personal plights being put out there in the public eye?  Why is she being labelled a "homewrecker," when Cibrine is equally at fault,  and anyway who are all of you to judge what went on between them? You don't even know them personally and are just relying on sensational reporting.  Okay, it could have been a better performance, but everyone ****s up a performance once in a while.  I don't know what Carly's parents were thinking putting their 13-year-old daughter on X factor.  She's way too young to be famous.  Why can't those parents just be happy with her performing on Broadway and let her have a normal childhood?

2 seasons...and ratings down?  so far this year it was head to head with THE VOICEand RUDOLF and lost.   tells u simons magic potion is waning.  its about the judges.  simon hasnt changed (but i agree with him more than the other judges)  britney must be on something - course the court wont let her deal with her money.  demee - smart mouth.. never understood her popularity.  she didnt write SKYSCAPER, she just sang it (2 people and kerli koiv - who sang it first).  L.A. beat feet before the train wreck happens.

is the show about the singers OR the judges?  i am sure L.A. is leaving cuz he sees a train wreck.  simon is too intent on glitz/glamor rather than the singing.  a lot of people wud like to be flies on the wall to see what goes on.  that ear piercing wail of the banshees in the audience is constant - does a sign go up??

 

  watch the UK x factor on youtube....its better and less schtick.

This is the stuff you get when a 14 year old gets famous and then grows up with poor direction/example.  Rimes is an adult now, though.  She should take control of her life and make better decisions.  And yes, I've seen the youtube clip, and she looks messed up.  I don't watch the show, but I've watched clips of Carly, and for 13, she's really good.  I wish her well.

Their ratings have gone down.  This is why no one wants to perform on the show anymore. They get who they can get.  The group that sang with Tate I have never heard of in my life.  In my eyes Carly is the winner.  I was never a fan of Tate.  No matter what she will have a cd out within a year I predict.

Carly at best is not a pop star but rather a broadway performer. I was surprised Simon never made that statement. As for the hosts of the show, Mario and Klohe, they sure dropped any credibility to being hosts. I don't feel bad for the little whiner or her family! She is getting a contract none-the-less. Bottom Line who cares.!

When I first heard the song on the radio, I thought Rimes was singing, "How do I LEAVE without you". Her diction was so poor. It was only after I heard Trisha Yearwood's version that I learned the lyrics, "LIVE without you, were correct. When I have heard Leann sing the song, in the last few years, I've noticed that she has tried hard to put an R&B spin to it, and by doing that (or should I say OVERdoing that), the melody is completely lost. On The X Factor, Rimes did it again, and buried Carly and any hope of a meaningful duet. I don't know if this took Carly out of the competition, but it greatly diminshied her chances. Carly's family has just cause for their anger, especially after Rimes' response.

I agree with most of you about Lee Ann Rimes not performing her best.  She did seem to look as though she had to much to drink.  But, as far as Carly losing  to Tate, the results were already decided before the show began.  Carly  parents are blaming Rimes for Carly not being picked.  I'll have to disagree with her parents.  It's to bad that she had to sing with someone who she looked up to, and that person did't perform as good as she should have.  But Carly will be okay, she'll have some record deals soon and we'll all be hearing about her in the future.

I just want to know what the X-Factor people were thinking when they decided it would be a good decision to have LeAnn perform with ANYONE. I'm not trying to hate on her, I feel truly sorry for her because she seems to have just come completely unraveled and doesn't seem capable of putting her life back together... So it really wasn't fair to have her on stage performing with a nervous finalist.

I really felt bad for carly, leann really wrecked that moment for her. Carly really did beat leann at her own song! Really hope that performance didn't ruin it for carly, very dissapointing!

Never liked LeAnn's version of that song to begin with, SHOULD have Trisha Yearwood sing it with her to stary with,. I feel very saddened that LeAnn wasn't adult enough to take responsibility for her own inadequacies.  What respect I had for her?  Is now completely gone Just tell our daughter to remember that this is the BUSINESS, it isn't fair, it sucks sometimes even, but there are a lot of good people out there.  That all things are a learning lesson.  The lesson is for her good, even if it feels hurtful right now.  It will make Karly stronger and a better person in the long run.  TRISHA would never do that to a child.  Trisha is  wonderful singer, but not a "diva".  "Diva" is not always a "kind" word.  It is almost like a southern woman saying "bless your heart", pretty much a "kiss of death" in most situations. 

 

Your daughter is a wonderful, beautiful girl, with the WHOLE world loving her, and waiting for her first album to come out.  I will buy BOTH hers and Tate's CDs when they come out (and I havn't bought a CD in several years).  She has an incredible future ahead of her, a little Celine in the making.  Just be sure to keep her "circle" a good one, that she is protected from bad influences (I remember hearing that Celine's husband was VERY careful about keeping Celine's "circle" the right type of people.

I do feel that all the finalists were fantastic!  They all are deserving of an industry contract.  Difficult to judge.  I wish them much success.  Congratulations to Tate!  It's just a shame that Leann had to ruin that moment for Carly.

Leann is pathetic!!!  I feel terrible for Carly, and I certainly do not blame her family for being outraged for her.  Leann gave a God-awful performance period ( whether alcohol induced or not).  It definitely appeared that Leann was under the influence of something though! To throw blame upon Carly was a beyond trashy thing to do!!  She has just proven yet again what a low-life she has become.  Sounds like another visit to rehab for "anxiety" or "exhaustion" is in the works.  Then her reps will be apologizing, saying she wasn't herself, as if we're supposed to feel pity for her.  She made her bed, she gets to lay in it with Eddie!  Even before her problems in recent years, it was near impossible to understand what the hell she was singing!  She should be ashamed of this debacle.
