Will.i.am Joins 'The X Factor' as Mentor
The Black Eyed Peas star to help Britney Spears' acts during judges' home rounds

Pop star Will.i.am is bringing his boom, boom, pow star power to FOX's "The X Factor."
The Black Eyed Peas lead singer will act as a mentor to new judge Britney Spears' chosen contestants in season 2 of the talent-search show, which kicks off Wednesday, Sept. 12.

Will.i.am is slated to join "The X Factor" during the judge's home rounds, TV Guide reports. The 37-year-old Los Angeles native is not a reality competition novice. He was recently a coach on "The Voice UK."

He's also the latest and final mentor to join the series. As MSN TV previously reported, Nick Jonas will mentor Demi Lovato's acts, Justin Bieber will lend a hand to L.A. Reid's crop of singers and Marc Anthony will use his expertise to guide Simon Cowell's folks.
Will.i.am and Spears also collaborated on a track called "Sexy Sexy" on his new solo album, "#willpower," which hits store shelves in October.
"The X Factor" premieres Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.
Will.i.am has some "creds" in the commercial music of today...not question about that. Even his sting on The Voice UK was deceent and successful. Plus, he has other qualities that make him 3 dimensional. He is the keynote speaker at the International Broadcasters Conference in Amsterdam this month. So he has "creds." I have a feeling that Demi has similar qualifications for pop music.. An there there is Britney Spears. Well, honestly, she has lost her pop-star looks and actually look more like what she is, a mother of young children who also happens to have a career in music. So there is a nice mixture of talent on the panel besides LA and Simon. But now we hear there is going to be shows with Justin Bieber as a mentor. This kid is way over rated, can't really sing without his auto-tune on, and will certainly never sit down and sing a power ballad like any of the contestants can. Not that he might not want to, but he CAN'T. It is at this point that X-Factor USA jumps the shark. I will watch because he will be gone after a short while at the judges' homes, but I much prefer the X-Factor UK (YouTube) where the talent is better, the mentors are better, and there is a whole slicker/smooth production surrounding the show.
You people are pathetic. You need to do a better job. The TV execs know that you function just barely above the level of animals, and they put this garbage out there for you to consume, and you don't even challenge them. Looks like they are right. You're a pathetic bunch of suggestible animals ready to beg and grovel like the "subjects" that you are.
Bad job by you!
