The CW has ordered a new reality show it describes as an "intense wilderness competition." While early reports trumpet it as "Hunger Games" without the murder, it seems more like an update of "Survivor."

Bing: More about 'The Hunger Games'

On the hour-long show, 12 teams of two will be dropped into the wilderness without food, water or shelter. For a full month, they'll compete in tests of their ability to hunt, survive and capture one another.

Honestly, I think it sounds pretty good. For those who hate the premise.... here's a crazy thought.... don't watch. That way you'll be happy, and those of us who enjoy this type of show will be happy by not having you ruin our enjoyment.   Yeah, I said it and I meant every word.

Really?!  The Hunger Games is a satire based on the decline of our civilization due to reality shows. And they want to use this as the basis for a reality show.  Is this not a perfect example of irony?

By 2017, the global economy has collapsed and American society has become an totalitarian police state, censoring all cultural activity. The government pacifies the populace by broadcasting a number of game shows in which people fight for their lives, including the gladiator-style Hunger Games!
