Honey Boo Boo's Mama June Slams 'South Park'
Reality matriarch found Trey Parker and Matt Stone's send-up 'trashy'
By Kenny Herzog Oct 16, 2012 9:05AM
A couple weeks back, we shared the sumptuous news that sketti-cooking woman "Mama" June Shannon and her daughter, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, would be skewered on an episode of "South Park." And in case you missed it, we've included a particularly standout clip below. Though if Mama June had it her way, the parody would never have aired. In a scenario overstuffed with irony, Shannon and Alana appeared on "TMZ" and derided the "South Park" characterization of her and her family. "That show is not a show I would want to be on to begin with," she explained. "The previews looked like it was going to be OK, but just the way they portrayed the show, it was kind of trashy."
Wethinks that was the point, but what do we know about comedy?

Honey Boo Boo and the family themselves aren't the problem. It's the people watching the show and us idiots who keep talking about it and making it relevant. If nobody watched this program, then there wouldn't be any problem. We should be ashamed of ourselves as consumers. The media only puts out there what people want, and American's love their stupid trash. We are all to blame for being a low-brow society (myself included).

WOW! Like she's got ANY ROOM to talk!!! I wouldn't be caught dead watching that disgusting mess they are on!!! These people openly eembrace the stereotype of southerners being bad-mannered, uneducated toothless gravy-drinking moonshine making dullards that a lot of southerners take offense to. They should've NEVER put that mess on the air. People with HALF a brain don't find this "show" entertaining or if they're like me they refuse to tune in. I used to like TLC. It was worth watching. Now, it's just another channel I flip past.

Say what you will about "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo", one thing is obvious - Mama June loves her children unconditionally, and they love her. As far as "South Park" goes, it is an animated tv show, intended for ADULTS. It is trashy, vulgar, and full of sick, potty humor. Do I enjoy the show? Yes, of course I do, I'm an adult. But, I do not let my children watch "South Park"; nor, for that matter, do I let them vegetate in front of the tv for more than an hour on school nights, or two hours on Saturdays. LOL I didn't spend thousands of dollars on a library full of books, music CDs, Disney DVD's, all the latest educational/ science kits, dozens of interactive family-style board games, and good ol' fashioned Hoyle's checkers, cards, and chess sets, for my family to waste time watching the boob tube!

I feel really bad for Honey Boo Boo. People are talking about her like she is an adult. This is a child. I know her mother should have been worried about that when she agreed to be on the show, but really how much of that was the little girls doing?? I just feel bad for the little one. People, adults calling her fat, and say all type of bad things about her family. It is just sad....
