Report: Snooki and the Situation to Be 'Phased Out'

Are the two reality stars no longer wild enough for 'Jersey Shore'?

Of the many insults hurled at "Jersey Shore's" two most famous residents, not wild enough sounds more like a compliment. But with Snooki preggers and the Situation in rehab, TMZ reports that producers are concerned their show will "lose its sex-crazed alcohol-fueled edge."

Bing: More about 'Jersey Shore'

So their screen time will be limited when the reality show begins filming its sixth season this summer, replaced by "newer, wilder castmates" (read: younger people more willing to fall down stairs and pee on the floor).

"Folding in new castmates will help transition the show into a new generation," the report quotes an unnamed source, "while still keeping old fans hooked."

Would you watch "Jersey Shore" without its two biggest traffic accidents?

Please drop off the radar screen and fade away. Over used, over weight, and no talent; the world will be better off.

I hope they both saved some of their money, because this should be the end of the line for them. Can't imagine that they will ever work in TV again. Of course I thought the same thing about some of the other rejects they keep bringing back.

I agree with the Kardashian thing....I still don't get why they are famous, or why people watch their show.

Good Grief !! Whenever I accidently turn the channel to "Snookie," it never ceases to amaze me how a show like this ever got started.  The producers must be of very low intelligence and that pertains, also, to the actors on the show.  Where do they find these people?  Under a rock??

yes they all act like a-holes and yes they probably all should be regularly checked for STDs, but the show is a big time success, its HUGE! millions of people tune in every thursday night for the new episode and even those who claim that they have never watch it (who btw are probably lying) are leaving comments and reacting to this news. if people are still watching it and still talking about it why would they ever stop it? especially if they can easily find another Snooki and Mike "The Situation" and a lot more kids that are crazier.

Never watched it, never will. By the way, just to be clear: MOST of this cast (Snookie and the Situation included) are NOT from NJ.

I like Jersey Shore...  I'm old, but it's like reliving my own youth..  I enjoy Snooki and Mike and the rest and we be interested to see what else they do; but 6 years is a big difference  was 22 now 28.  I think more of the cast should be replaced.

I've never watched this show because all reality shows are staged crap. And I for one wouldn't touch snookie's nookie with a ten foot pole coated in penicillin. So gross.

Wonder what the 2 of them will do after they are gone from this show?

Their latent talent will surely take them far I am sure......................

"Jersey Shore" -- is this how far we've degenerated?   F. Newton Minnow was right -- television isn't a wasteland, it's a sewer!

FWIW:  I agree that "Jersey Shore" is a waste of space.  But having said that, this show is MTV's highest rated program among teenagers which is a much sought-after demographic for advertising.  I know,  kids should probably not be watching this junk but that's MTV's target and they've hit it well.  It's a cartoon-like train wreck of mature themes aimed at a not-so-mature audience.  Sad but true and is a running testament to most of so-called "reality TV".   Snooki & Sitch's replacements will undoubtedly be louder, more self-absorbed and twice-as-obnoxious clones of a type.  You can make book on that.

If you have ever watch this show or in any care about anyone of these "characters" you should head to your nearest ER and asked to be lobotomized and sterilized. We dont need people like you reproducing because your IQ is probably under 70. And if you think 70 is passing then you have proven my point.

If they'd simply let us vote on what gets put on TV, this POS show wouldn't exist!

I had a "situation" this morning as a result of some cheap, fast food and took the biggest "snooki" of my life. I fear the toilet will need a major overhaul now...
