'The Voice' Recap: Four Singers Hit the Finals

Lindsey Pavao, Katrina Parker, Erin Willet and Jamar Rogers are eliminated

'The Voice'/NBC

Note to NBC: I appreciate the fact that you have a ratings winner here with "The Voice," and a sophomore season that never even veered toward slump, but all this filler? Just give us the results! I, for one, did not need to catch up with last season's "Final Four," and while Christina Milian is adorable, I never need to go into the Sprint lounge again.

OK, regarding the former ... I guess Vicki Martinez's performance with former coach Cee Lo sounded good and her record, "Come Along," did drop earlier in the day, but the shout-fest that featured Cyndi Lauper proving she "Moves Like Jagger" on her admittedly raucous '80s hit "Money Changes Everything" drove me to my medicine cabinet for some Advil.

It took effect just in time for the results.

Aguilera copped out, giving both Chris Mann and Lindsay Pavao 50, even going so far as to say she wanted America to decide. Thanks to that move, it went to Mann, 104-96. Had Xtina given Pavao some love, it woulda been different.

Levine had the guts to actually weigh in, giving Tony Lucca 60 to 40 for Katrina Parker. It was the right thing to do; Lucca's so much farther along -- he's ready. America agreed and Lucca took it 108-92.

Shelton copped out as well, going the 50/50 route with Erin Willett and Jermaine Paul. But, considering the fact that Willett's father passed away during all this, and it was actually the girl's birthday on Tuesday, we can give Blake a pass. America wasn't half as considerate -- Paul won handily-with 123 and Willett in the low '0s.

And then, who I was waiting for all night (and who is ALWAYS last): Juliet Simms ... versus Jamar Rogers. Cee Lo, too, did the right thing, voting on the previous evening's performance, and with the track record of both contestants, it had to go to Juliet, from a judge's perspective. Cee Lo leaned 60-40 in her favor. He knew America was hung up on Jamar's back story. Catch is, America seemingly wasn't...not nearly as much as Rogers clearly thought anyway. Simms landed at 123, and Rogers didn't even break 100.

While Lucca is a force to be reckoned with, this episode was basically the season finale, folks. 'Cuz Simms has got this.

Yeah, I said it.

IF YOU DON"T READ ANYTHING ELSE PLEASE....help the remaining women dress up in a way that is flattering!  When there are extra pounds the tummy pooches out - there are clothes that would look better than something tight and short!  Not everyone on the stage is a size 0!  All of the singers have been phenomenal!  The coaches all promised to help the members of their teams to grow and expand - but, reality, some of the judges help their muse only if the muse's happen to be their favorite.  And of all the judges, I have lost total respect for Christina who is all about Christina - what an ego!

@ Sportsfan49 ..

i said the same thing re xtina.   but she aint a hasbeen or j.ho type who has to put out smutty videos, rub on her new boytoy, sell foreign cars, use music/lyrics  from other songs to put out new videos to relaunch her dead career.  face it, if it wasnt for AI, she wud be a lounge lizard singer.

xtina CAN sing.  j.ho cant.

So funny, I'm not the only one who thinks the 'we love you Kristina' is staged!  I said that last night!  She is just hugely talened, but what an egotistical person she is!

You need to check your math skills. If Adam had split his vote evenly, Katrina would have won by 4.  That said, American did not agree with him - American preferred Katrina.

Adam messed up. America got it right. Tony rode two trick pony performances into the finals with a 20 point boost from coach. Katrina was the real talent on that team. Also don't get Chris over Lindsey. What kind of record is he gonna make? Oh well, the final's real competition  is between Juliet and Jermaine.

With last night's show, Adam lost any respect I had for him. As he was vomiting all over the mic trying to explain why he voted in Tony's favor... I was soooooo hoping that America's votes would have trumped his vote, and they almost did!! Can you imagine the back peddling he would've had to have done?! Adam,,,, NOTE TO SELF: America got it right! Shame on you for allowing your man-crush to slant your vote.

I don't know if Juliet will when but I do know Vinnie needs a math refresher.

Bellhop, you sound a little racist, do not forget last years winner was not white.

Hey Vinnie - I agree - Juliet will win it all.  You did get one thing wrong though - America did not agree on Lucca - Katrina beat him 52-48.  If Adam had gone 50-50 like Blake and Christina, Katrina would be in the final!

I said after the last season that I would never watch this show again, I should have stuck to it.  Why even bother pretending that America gets to choose the winners?  While I don't always enjoy the battle rounds I am okay with the coaches choosing the winner in that round, but after that I don't think they should have a say.  If they want to do a coaches save with the bottom two after voting that would be fine but the coaches getting rid of people that America clearly would've voted to save is ridiculous.  I don't think either of Xtina's top 2 should have been there but she didn't let the voters decide.  This show is a joke.

Haven't watched since the bogus elimination of Jesse. But I see the best singers are gone. Pathetic show

first Juliet has moments, but she also has issues, reports say she has signed several record deals, but seems to be unable to "play well with others"....but I was glad she was given the chance for the finals, but I do not think she has the sound that folks really want to hear.

I thought Christina was a little subdued last night, perhaps she saw some of the comments? I do not know who looks worse in those skimpy outfits, her or Lady Gaga, either way they are both devoid of any sense of style.....just a little tip, save the fishnets, just wrong on so many different levels.

I wonder if it is my TV or system or hearing, but does not this show have some of the worse mixing of any music on TV. the background music always seems to be in the Front, and volume levels seem poorly blended. To my hearing, the mixing is confusing and does little to enhance the performer. I have no idea who is working the console, but they need some help

I like Blake, but that song he did with last years contestant was so damn boring. Celo's was a lot more entertaining.

So, one of the guys will win, and go on to a totally lack luster career in music, i do like this show, but sadly this year "The Voice" never showed up.

@The Real Slim K

agreed!   singing other peoples songs only show you sing other peoples songs. PERIOD.  you need to be able to write your own songs - more money.

UNLESS you are a celine dion or whitney houston who made careers out of singing other peoples songs.  aint heard many singers in that highest of tiers.

I like the show a lot, but I have to say this:  Like 'American Idol' it's not going to become better than just a really good karioke show until, as 'X-Factor' they allow the contestants to perform their own self-composed songs.

The judges' voting 50/50 was not a cop out by any means.  At this stage of the competition, both singers have earned their right to be there and both singers are very, very good.  The judges are voting from a mentor/coach perspective and at this point their protegees are 50/50.  It's a given that both will go on to lucrative and successful careers.  I think it showed class to let the public decide which ones they want to win this competition.
