Adam Lambert to Become 'American Idol' Judge?

Report: Season 8 runner-up in talks to join panel, other judges' futures up in the air

Adam Lambert could become the first person to graduate from contestant to judge of the same talent show. According to E! Online, the Season 8 runner-up is in talks to join the "American Idol" panel next season.

"They have been talking about Adam for over a month," E! News quotes an unnamed source. "He personifies the show, and will be a popular choice right from the start."

And Lambert may not be the only replacement required. According to E!'s sources, Jennifer Lopez has "no plans to return" for a third stint, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is "up in the air" about re-committing and Randy Jackson may become a casualty because FOX wants to give the series "a new look" following poor ratings last season.

In May, Lopez told former "Idol" judge Ellen DeGeneres: "I don't know if I can go for a third year. I miss doing other things. It really does lock you down, which was nice the first year." Neither of the other judges has made public statements about next season. But, at this point, only Ryan Seacrest is guaranteed to return. (He signed a two-year contract in April.)

Season 12 of "American Idol" premieres in January on FOX.

I think they should consider "Pink" to be a judge and maybe Shania Twain.

This guy has not been in the music  business long enough to judge what is talent and what isn't. American Idol is getting desperate for ratings and I guess they think putting on some totally outrageous somewhat marginally  talented singer will be the magic  bullet they seek.

why don't American Idol have all the rappers celebrities on then that way this panel of judges on here will be ever so happy all the rappers on idol will be able to win

here's another thing I got to say the people that don't like Adam Lambert and won't watch the show
because of him well then good talented people will have a chance at winning this year 
instead of others that have body and sex appeal more than talent 
too many good talent got booted off this year because the ones that sing ok 
were sexy and good looking and looked like the girls could get some 
American Idol and X-factor is a talent show for singing not for being models 
too many people were judging last year on looks alone not for talent 
even Randy Jackson said that when they brought somebody back who got booted

then why isn't it as popular as Adam Lambert's new one who just hit the top of the charts with his new one AGAIN 
his first album went gold when it came out and this one might do that same thing 
everybody except this message board loves adam lamberts music 
so along with the people I discussed on here I think American Idol would do great 
and so does American Idol people they just wrote and said I had a fabulous Idea 
I twittered them with the same choices of judges 
so there , this message board may not like my idea about judge but the American Idol people do 
cause I know talent when I hear it .
and Adam Lambert is talent 
and that's why his Albums are off the top of the charts 
and it's nothing to do with him being gay , it's his talent that got him where he is 
and that ought to count for something 
not because of his sex preference or people love rap the rap crap of today more than they love 
his music .

THAT would END my viewing of this show!   I didnt like him then and I surely wont watch him again.  No way!  and are you kidding me, where is HIS experience.  Cant stand his style of singing nor looking at him.

Love Adam Lambert.  His season was the last good one, in my opinion.  Idol has been incredibly boring since Simon left because all of the judges are unable or afraid to tell a contestant that he or she was terrible.  We all loved to hate Simon, but at least he was honest when a performance was terrible.  I am tired of the "love fest" from the judges.  Get honest with them!

If Adam Lambert becomes a judge,  the show will lose market share at about the same speed as a power failure. 

 

Does anyone remember the things he had to say about Susan Boyle.   He trashed her because her album out performed his.   It's a shame his first rate talent was waisted on such a second rate jerk .

 

If he's on, then I'm off !

MATTY K:  We all have our favorite kinds of music, but I did not enjoy him at all.  He screamed more than he sang.

And the guy (Kris Allen) who beat him DOES have a new album out. 

 

But I did not (in your latest post) dislike him because he is Gay.  I AM GAY AND I STILL DON'T LIKE HIM!!!!!!!

Don't judge others that you do not know.  Don't be stupid.
