'Dancing With the Stars' Recap: Hardly a Fairy Tale Ending
Brandy and Maks' elimination sends shock waves through the crowd
If you missed this week’s results show you might have done yourself a favor.
There were audible gasps and boos from the audience as Brandy was cut from the show. The pop singer looked terrified as she stood onstage waiting to hear the results and absolutely heartbroken after they were announced.
When Brooke asked her how she felt about her elimination, Brandy simply said "I don’t know how to feel." Her partner Maks was a little more outspoken, "I love that the show represents the people’s choice."
Judge Bruno Tonioli was less diplomatic. He stood up and begged people to vote more often.
As the credits began to roll so did the tears. Host Tom Bergeron called tonight’s elimination "the cruelest cut" and I have to agree.
Dried your own tears yet? Then here’s a rundown of our three finalists’ performances this week:

Jennifer Grey
Jennifer and Derek had themselves a perfect week! They debuted both a spirited, sexy, totally fluid cha cha and perhaps the best waltz the show has ever seen. It was thoughtful and measured, just beautifully articulated. Even if Jennifer doesn’t win next week, she sure has earned her place in the "DWTS" Hall of Fame.
Kyle Massey
Kyle and Lacey had their best week ever, beating Brandy out for second place on the leaderboard. Their samba set a breathless pace, but Kyle somehow made it look easy. His rhythm was right on, his footwork was the best I’ve ever seen it, his hips were perfect and his arm extension was great. Kyle and Lacey’s Argentine tango was almost as energetic as their samba. Len praised Kyle’s enthusiasm, but didn’t have too much to say about the dance itself. Sometimes numbers speak louder than words, eh? Kyle may be the underdog heading into the Finals, but I have faith in him!
Bristol Palin
Bristol and Mark’s paso doble was beautifully, intricately choreographed, and struck just the right mood. I believe the word is smoldering. The pair’s waltz was equally well-done: the technique was excellent throughout, but a particularly well-executed series of spins about halfway through the routine really stood out. Did anyone really expect Bristol to make it to the finale? No. But if she turns in performances like these next week, she’s got a real shot.
I am totally not happy with what happened this year.
Bristol cut out two better dancers and should not have made it this far based on her inability to dance. This should not just be a popularity contest, the person should deserve to be at the end.
Bristol was soo over confident that she actually thought she would win to show people something for disliking her mom when the reality is she did not deserve to be there at all. The final analysis should not be based on how many political party voters one can get to help their child but a combination of popularity and mostly skill.
Perhaps you can change the format so that the popular vote is only 10 percent, and talent and over all dance abilities a greater percent so that something like this can't happen again.
It is obvious to me, at least, that the best dancer left on the show is Jennifer
Grey. I don't know if she was the best dancer for the season or not, but she is the best dancer on the show. Kyle, of course, is the most charismatic and has improved dramatically as the season has progressed. Bristol, too, has improved. As the judges have pointed out on several occasions, her posture and form have been good all season.
That being said, if the show is supposed to judged on dancing, neither Kyle nor Bristol should be left standing. There were clearly at least two other dancers who were better dancers all season long and who deserve to have made it to the finals. Kyle and Bristol should have been sent home a long time ago, when they were clearly outclassed by other dancers. But, they have improved and progressed immensely (not enough to be the best dancers, mind you). It raises the question in my mind how might other dancers in seasons past improved had they been given the opportunity to remain on the show when they clearly should have been eliminated as these two dancers should have been?
Why all the negative towards Bristol. She didn't pick her mother. Like she said she's not Hollywood. She is truly an underdog and I have voted for her every week. She has truly improved since week one. I loved her waltz and tango. You go Bristol. You still have my support. Brandy was voted off because of her cry baby attitude. Jennifer shouldn't win because she was already a dancer. The votes come from ordinary people watching Bristol blossoming right before their eyes. Votes count. Brandy didn't have votes. I wonder why. Bristol I love what you're doing. You go girl!!!
also she is making comments about gay and calling them fagot and gays, etcc..
you should be ashammed of what you are doing you fat woman, everybody looses weight on DWTS and she is the only one that keeps gaining, etcc.. weird.
She is on a show( Thanks to her mother using politics) with a lot of gay guys and probably she is dancing with one and now she is saying all these things. shame on you FFB
I think that the girl called bristol should quit the show, it makes me sick and a lot of people to see that fat robot dancing. she has no idea what she is there for. she is awful, she doesn know how to dance, this is a dance competition and not a political competition, she should pack and leave the show, since hse knows she cant dance.
I dont doubt if she wins the trophy and the money everything is a political move, ABC is loving the frenzy over it.
I would suggest to ABC to have a wild card ( likeamerican idol) so the judges could save someone like Brandy and kick this this b..ch leave the show...
enough is enough,
OH please Sawdustgal, 'poor girl' my butt!
This isn't the poor little wallflower here, now the cow is on FB with her snotty sister regurgitating foul language and sexist slurs against people that dare to have an opinion that differs from theirs!
After reading what I just did, I dare anyone else to say she's a nice, sweet girl!
