Everyone always forgets that the persons who make the decision for this show are folks with MBA degrees in journalism and communications. The persons who are Accountant for TLC can demostrate on a regular basis that these types of shows generate serious revenues. TLC is owned by STock holders who do not complain when they see the value of their stock going up or if they get quarterly dividends
many times we complain against the characters ON THE SHOW, when in fact there are many persons who are sitting in corner offices who are laughing all the way to the bank regardless of any damage or humiliation or stereotype they are promoting
generally as long as it can generate money, it will continue. Sad to say, as a culture we like this stuff, we support this stuff. in TV only eyeballs count. The type of show really don't matter if the accountant can't show big numbers

When I saw "Honey Boo Boo ban" I thought TLC had come to their senses. I have never watched the show but the commercials alone make me think this has to be some of the worst dreck ever. When television was in its early stages some show were considered "bubblegum for the eyes" I wonder what they would think of this white trash garbage. Thank God for PBS, there is still some class on TV.
