Katherine Webb preferred 'Dancing' over diving

Internet sensation confesses passion for dance, accepted 'secured spot'

Miss Alabama Katherine Webb has confessed her first choice for a reality TV appearance was "Dancing With the Stars" and not celebrity diving show "Splash."

The 23-year-old made headlines when she was spotted in the crowd by cameras during her boyfriend A.J. McCarron's appearance at the BCS National Championship Game earlier this month. Now, she's set to compete on ABC's new high-diving show, "Splash," in March. But if she had her choice, she would rather don heels and a spray tan, instead of a bathing suit.

She admitted to Ryan Seacrest on his radio show, "If I were to do any show it would have been 'Dancing With the Star's just because I love dancing. I don't know the technicalities on that. But I know that I was on the list, I think, but I had a secured spot for celebrity diving so I went ahead with diving." Webb will go toe-to-toe with celebrities including "Girls Next Door" star Kendra Wilkinson, Keshia Knight Pulliam of "The Cosby Show" and comedian Louie Anderson when "Splash" premieres March 19.

Already the girl is over exposed.   No, I'm not jealous, just tired of seeing people who get more than their 15 minutes of fame.   What happened to her saying she is moving back to Alabama to be with her boyfriend.  My fault - ex-boyfriend.  He is no longer in the picture.  She got what she needed from him and has moved on.   I would love to see a picture of Musberger's wife!!   Wish the media would interview her and ask her if she is embarrassed about her husband drooling over a young chick!!

Finally a made-celbrity that has some actual substance, intelligence and isn't a poster child for bad behavior.  I'd certainly much rather see someone like this become a focal point in the media instead of the Lohans and Kardashian junk.  I think Dancing would have been a much better business decision for her if she's looking to further a career in Media, but seeing someone like her getting the attention for a change is a breath of fresh air.

Katherine Webb became a "star" the minute the television cameras found her -  regardless of the circumstances. She just hadn't been discovered until that moment. Dancing with the Stars lost out on what could've been some extra high ratings by not immediately going after Katherine Webb. I am very happy for Katherine Webb.

Brent Mussberger took all kinds of flack for his comments about her during that bowl game her boyfriend was playing in. I'll bet if she had the opportunity to thank him she would those comments brought all kinds of offers her way and she's making the most of them I say good for her.

For crying out loud folks......she's not the one who needs to get over herself.

Circumstances threw opportunity her way. She's making the most of it. Methinks most of these comments reflect envy. That's not pretty (though she most definitely is).

Being "girlfriend of the quarterback" may have been what got her an instant "look", but her looks and the fact that she IS Miss Alabama has kept her in the spotlight beyond the obligatory 3 second camera shot during the game.
