"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" star June Shannon is determined to make sure her daughters don't grow up to become spoiled, polished socialites like the Kardashian sisters. Shannon's 7-year-old daughter, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, has become a household name shortly after she wowed reality TV fans on TLC's pint-sized beauty pageant docu-series, "Toddlers and Tiaras." And in 2012, Thompson, Shannon, and the rest of the family became breakout sensations when spin-off show, "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," debuted with high ratings.

However, despite all their success, the McIntyre, Ga., native June tells the Huffington Post that her daughters will always be rural, country, down-to-earth kids -- and nothing like Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian. She explains, "My girls are not high-maintenance like them. They prefer to play in the mud than shop for new clothes. My girls are not labels. My kids love knowing who they are. We are just everyday people. We don't consider ourselves celebrities. We still have respect for people just like we did before. We have not let the fame go to our head, because we are people people. We love to hang out with our fans ... I'm the same person I was six months before all this started."

JoJoee - no I would not be happy if they paid me money to be stupid on TV.  I don't need the money that much to sink to looking stupid and like a red neck.  Also, they don't have to pay this family to look stupid as they are stupid!

There is only one difference between the 2 families - looks. White trash that looks good and white trash that is fat and ugly...I'll leave it up to you to decide which is which!

All daughters should be educated to their highest level. You can afford to educate your daughters now ,so please for their futures do it.  It's not whats on their hips, or whats not on their breasts that make a better woman but whats in their brain. You do that for your baby girls momma.

she actually cleans up well, but are there still gnats coming from her toes while wearing shoes? I do hope she sticks to 'not spoling' the girls.

I just LOL'ed so loud my co-workers asked what was so funny... I love that the Human Thumb, says that her fame whore kids will never grow up to be like those other fame whores.

Its simple to me, No Honey Boo Boo will never be the Kardashians. I find Honey Boo Boo just STUPID, to have many people make fun of a little child for not being taught any better. Her mother is what gives simple country folks a bad name. Be proud of who you are don't try to compare apples with oranges. I like the Kardashians.. Let be real... Its all "FAKE" to a point. Really !

In fairness to Honey Boo-Boo.......She has a long way to go to catch up to Kim Kardashian.

 

13 boyfriends, 2 marriages and a PORNO-flick!!!!  And the 2nd marriage lasted how many days???

Then she was into another relationship within how many days?????  Now she's preggers.  That is a child I will feel sorry for.

We have a name for that where I am from....It starts with HO, but doesn't end with HOney BooBoo

 

I hope Boo is NEVER going to catch up to that kind of class

I dont watch either one and heres why;

Honey boo boo and the kardashians are Just the two sides of the same coin if you droped it on the ground one has a face in the dirt and the other is looking to the stars with a thin line in between

where the morals reside( thats where I'll be).

Some of these comments are so cruel... BULLIES!!! I certainly hope you don't talk to YOUR kids like that or teach them to talk to others that way.  I dare say that most of us are more like June and company than we'd care to admit.  Moreover, most of us are FAR FAR from being like the Kardashian's and clan than we'd care to acknowledge either. Jus sayin'...

I don't watch ANYTHING on TLC. Not sure what the Learning Channel is actually suppossed to be teaching but I am fine NOT knowing. There will always be crap tv because people like it! Makes people feel better about their lives just as it does to make nasty mean and ignorant comments.

I think all of the negativism on this is pathetic!   There is absolutely nothing wrong with this family.  I think a lot of us have a problem with them because they are true authentic people.  Not one way behind closed doors and another when being seen across America.   They are shown for who they are if people don't like it or appreciate the amusement the show brings watch something else.

This is totally disgusting.  This show should be dropped off the air because it promotes an unhealthy life style, the acceptance of processed and bad junk foods for those already obese from bad habits, not to mention this family has nothing to promote but a terrible life style.  How about getting these people to go on daily walks, promote healthy eating etc.  This show has no worth just like the Kardashian's show.  They are all sick and this is all TV has to offer us?
