Another Member of 'Real Housewives' Bites the Dust?

Peggy Tanous says she's leaving the 'Orange County' show

Bravo's having trouble hanging onto its "Real Housewives." Peggy Tanous is the latest cast member who is quitting the show, she announced via Facebook.

Bing: More about "The Real Housewives of Orange County"

Tanous, a married mom on "The Real Housewives of Orange County," wrote that, after months of negotiation and "soul-searching," she declined the offer to come back to the show for the seventh season. "I just felt in my heart that being around the negative energy of certain cast members, being forced to have 'dramatic' confrontations and the time it would take me away from my family was just not a healthy path for me." No, really?

A friend of Alexis Bellino, Tanous joined for the sixth season. She's the latest cast member to leave the "Real Housewives" reality franchise. New Jersey cast member Jacqueline Laurita announced via a series of tweets recently that she might be leaving the show. But a Bravo spokesman told The Star-Ledger that Laurita had not been let go from the show. All five "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" cast members will be back for the fourth season, Bravo has said.

We all may get annoyed with the RH shows but we all keep watching. Something must have gone on within that tight group of people on the NJ HW as it appears Carolyn is leaving too. It appears she has managed to be rich and normal. How are her and Theresa connected through family?

It's past time for all of the housewives show including the basketball wives because most of the people aren't even married...and they really display women in a negative light...and then we get addicted to the dumb reality tv because there isn't anything left to watch on tv...how about bring back the cosby show, friends, seinfeld....even girlfriends...but please...please...please get rid of the over top fake boobs, fake lips...fake jobs...fake assistants...fake everything..and then they always want to divorce someone...it's not promoting anything positive...although some of the children seeem to be more down to earth and wiser than the ridiculous "wives"

Frankly, the RH of OC are the most boring bunch of desperate, attention seeking posers in the entire Bravo lineup of reality figures. I used to watch the show becuase I thought these women were amusing to watch, but their desperation has worn thin and now they are nothing but pitiful creatures.  Not one of them is actually born and raised in OC, or represent any successful housewife in this county. Also, if couldn't stay married on the show because you're too much of a self involved nympho--does that really qualify you to be called a housewife?  Shouldn't the show be called the Real Divorcee Losers of OC?  I know plenty of beautiful, legitimately successful REAL housewives who can run these posers out of town.  Bravo--do your research...don't shop at the $dollar store and then tell us you've been to Cartier!  These women are all fake, petty, hypocritical, shallow, greedy, and live for nonsensical drama. I live and was raised in the OC all my life---I went to University & raised a family here.  My husband and I have worked very hard & have two successful companies. We are blessed to have a comfortable life, which we share with our entire family and friends. We volunteer at the Arts & museums centers, attend & donate generously to charity events, and host special events at our home to benefit charitable foundations. Here's what we don't do; obsess about plastic surgery but call ourselves holistic or worse not pay your rent because you needed to have that little tuck, hide behind religious values but dress like a dime store streetwalker, spend beyond our means while your house goes into short sale by the bank, have questionable and shady businesses where one can't really figure out what you do for a living and where the money comes from, should I go on....boring boring boring blah blah blah!

Bravo...the tsunami warning is here...the floundering ratings are going to take you out to sea--hope you have a life vest.

I agree with HazelEyez24, there is nothing about these ladies, and I use that word loosely......or their families that is real. I am so over this REALITY TV. It has been played to DEATH!!!!!!!! Literally. Can't anyone out there come up with any good ideas for TV??? I mean they all get paid the big bucks. How about putting some of these people in a REAL life for a day.

Ok they say this is the real housewife of what ever city it is. So tell me what is real about this - Fake boobs fake lips fake friends and fake life. We normal women and now men (because husbands are now on this show fighting and talking like bit****) i don't think carry ourselves like they do. We work hard to put food on our table and if we can ,hangout. We have fun AND barely fight because u hang with people u like not force to hang with people u don't get along with. I mean they should film real housewives that work a 9 to 5 job or at a fast food joint or a department store who maybe at times DON'T have a social life. That can't just pick up a bag and go on a plane to the bahamas or cabo. That have to plan vacations around children school. That have to visit the principal because the children misbehave or may have a drug problem. These are the real housewives. SO who care if this chick leaves she still has money right? All of these ladies are pathetic. I think of all the housewives I can only think of 2 that have a carrier everyone else live of the husband or the spousal support. We need to call Bravo and tell them to start covering lives of the real people that really need this "reality tv money" to provide for their family. I strongly hate the way these so call wives make us real wives look like shi**. No wait sorry, they make themselves look like shi** and sluts and whores and u know . Woo, needed to get that out of my chest which by the way is small but real lol lol lol. Hurray to the REAL HOUSEWIVES THAT WORK AT HOME AND IN THE WORK FORCE. I hope u like my thoughts

Yes, all of the shows are getting really bad, I have not been watching them much either.  Orange County did start going down hill with Tamara she is a slore (slut/whore) who has brought the show down along with her butt buddy Vicki.  New York still needs to get rid of Lu Ann and see how it goes, New Jersey is getting boring with Teresa and her brother.  I am tired also with all the back stabbing and negativity, these women need to get lives or just quit all of these shows, that is

why ratings are going downhill.  Crying

Let me just say this....I have been watching these shows from the beginnning, and they are going down hill.

The New Jersy housewives are pathetic...Teresa has changed into this green eye monster...she is such a..........well you know what!

As for the comment about Jackie and her mothering skills, I think her daughter is a BRAT! I would have cut her off a long time ago....she is so self intitled.

The new ultimate cage fight, throw all the RH into 1 cage with a suitcase of 20 million dollars and the first one out gets to keep it.
No one would survive.

OK, here we go again!  Won't really miss her.  I think she is not getting the attention she thinks she should be getting.  Tamara is a trouble maker, just like Teresa from NJ.  Alexis should leave along with her self centered husband.  Oh and by the way, he thinks he is gods gift to women, gag!   Alexis you really need some glasses.  Vicki needs to get her head out her **** and quit being should a "workaholic" and should have spent more time with Don.  And for the other blond bimbo and her boyfriend Slade, well there is not words for them other than bimbo and user.  I call it like I see it.

It was fun, at one point, watching these women but then one quickly realized that these were NOT REAL housewives.  You can pick out the ones that are real, down to earth.  These shows show how shallow alot of these women are and it might have to do with how they live their lives - ALWAYS having to "keep up with the Jones".  The men are either weak or controlling no in-betweens.  RHOC actually started getting spiteful when Tamara came on board - talk about a green-eyed monster.  There are only a handful of the housewives I like and Caroline Manzo is top (as is her hubby), she's no nonsense and down to earth.  She also doesn't flaunt her wealth - some of the other housewives should take note.  To that end, I will finish with: Peggy is doing the right thing, Tamara needs to leave, Alexis' husband needs to leave, RHOBH is okay, LuAnn of NY needs to leave, Jacqueline did the right thing - she was boring anyway, Teresa/hubby/daughters NEED to leave - I think about covers it.

I don't think Peggy will be missed.  I agree with Florida housewife's comment.  When Tamara joined the show is when all the negativity started.  I wish Bravo would let Tamara go like they did Jill Zarin.  I'm not sure I will watch Orange County next season.  I will stick with New Jersey and Beverly Hills.  Although, with Melissa and Kathy's addition to New Jersey.  I am starting not to like the mindless dribble.  I think the attraction to these shows is that you can come home from a hard day of work and not have to think too much and realize that you are fortunate not to have this much drama in  your life.  My husband hates me watching these shows but it is a way of unwinding, for me at the end of the day.  When I want to watch something of substance I just look for my remote.

Notice key word "Negotiation" they didn't want to pay her enough. And more than likely there was not enough "drama" in her life to keep her around that is usually what happens so Bravo will go on the "HUNT" to look for another friend of a friend or a relative who wants to get sucked in for the "drama". Too bad they just didn't keep the one's they had before when the ratings were great like back in back 3 years ago and before they had to branch out to cities all over and now they are all going down the tank. So they will keep the blonde Bimbo's who all fight like jr high school school kids who bully one another who can't do anything besides get into each others business and fail in their own personal lives. Just to turn around so we can all watch them spend the money you give them and set them up with along with the money they spend and watch their lives go down the drain and make our own look so much better even thou we have so much less.

She's leaving because there is too much negativity?  That's the formula for the housewives franchises now.  Orange County started getting negative when Tamra joined the show and then all the housewives series started becoming more and more about made up drama and not at all about "real" people.  I'm glad Peggy has the sense to leave, I think all of the housewives should quit.  They are just making fools of themselves.

She can leave, did not care for her at all. Funny after all her comments about Alexis and Jim's situation on there financial problems, saw where her and the hubby have money issues as well. You would think she would want  to work,,,,not she does not want to face the music.,
