'Dancing With the Stars' Recap: Rumba-ed Out

Jaleel White and Kym Johnson are the latest to get the hook

'Dancing With the Stars'/ABC

Classical Week has come and gone, and so has Jaleel White. He's been up and down throughout this competition, and this was definitely a down week. It's still no fun to say goodbye to him. He's a great dancer and a genuinely funny guy.

The dance duel was a rumba, and Roshon's was judged superior by all three judges. It was a tough call for Carrie Ann at least, who called Roshon and Jaleel roughly equal, and Bruno and Len agreed that both couples danced well.

Jaleel confessed that he thought he would only last about three dances into the season and said that his friends on the show and his fans helped him get as far as he did. He even praised Roshon and called on Len to "give him a 10." (Jaleel did get in a lovely jab at Len just before the dance duel. He said, "Len is the old guy outside the grocery store who won't give the kid any money for candy." Then he called Jaleel the kid outside the candy store.)

Here's a look at how the remaining stars did this week:

William Levy

In spite of the fact that he was dancing on an injured ankle, William turned in a top-notch Viennese waltz. The judges praised him for tuning in to his emotional side. William was also the team leader for the group paso doble and he and Cheryl absolutely sizzled out on the floor.

Donald Driver

Donald's Viennese waltz was full of crazy dips and spins, but he made it work. The judges had nothing but praise for his performance and complimented both his passion and his technical precision. Donald more than held his own against William in the paso doble – he's a real contender at this point.

Katherine Jenkins

Katherine's Grecian rumba was gorgeous, if a little bit understated. She and Mark moved beautifully together, as always, and Katherine's lines were gorgeous. It seemed like she had a little more fun with the group Argentine tango, where she and Mark turned up the intensity. Katherine doesn't show any signs of slowing down!

Maria Menounos

Maria's paso doble earned her this season's first perfect score from the judges. It was bold, dramatic and never let up for a minute. Maria and Derek also turned in a fierce performance in the group paso doble. These two are magic together and the sky's the limit.

Melissa Gilbert

Melissa's Argentine tango was a winner with the crowd and a loser with the judges. Carrie Ann called the routine "Cirque du Soleil gone wrong" because of all the lifts. Melissa did better with the group paso doble, but it was still a rough week for her. It's hard to see her lasting much longer in this competition.

Roshon Fegan

Roshon danced two tangos in one night. His solo Argentine tango got mixed reviews from the judges. Bruno called him out for wobbly legwork, but Carrie Ann gave him a hug and said "welcome back." Roshon and Chelsea distinguished themselves in the group tango. It was tough to see Roshon have to dance his way back into the game once again.

I enjoy watching dancing with the starts.  My favorite has been booted off already.  However I mosssst enjoyed the season with Dirty Dancing's star Jennifer Grey was the winner.  I loved everything about her!  Her dancing was great and she was in her 20's all over again!

MP, what does birthing 4 kids have to do with her ability to co-host.? She is boring MP,Are you the only one who gets excited for her? Sad. She is lost half the time. Asks stupid questions. "so, all the judges gave you a 5, and audience booed you off the dance floor...tell, how are you feeling right now".Since your talking about her anatomy. I will put my 2 cents in since you brought it up. Her hair sucks. As a man, i don't think she has a style that looks good. Plus, she has ugly legs. Must be those 4 kids weighing on them. Thats just my opinion. Trying to profile people on here is wrong, wrong wrong. However, in your defense, I have seen others do it as well. Brooke sucks, end of story.

OH M.P. u r such a male with a huge amt of testosterones. And obviously have the huge brass ones to make such a derogatory statement to those who dislike Brooke as a co-host.  Of course ur going to say she is teh "highlite" of the show and how u can watch her "all day". maybe u both have the same persona.

To me, I find this blogging interesting to read the comments of others. There r those who agree and those who do not.  But for u to say that those of who may not care for Brooke are fat, ugly and man hating dykes?  First of all, do u know all  of the ones commenting? I doubt it.

L. A. and living in the entertainment industry allows those to have the financial means to look beautiful (well there is the help of air brushing make-up and tan), probably has a personal trainer and nutritionist. Going to a plastic surgeon is nothing for those who can afford it and that includes breast implants.

Fact is, if the outside does not complilment the inside, oh that's not good. Brooke Burke may be a nice person, but there is too much space and air upstairs. She lacks personality and is just not a good fit with DWTS. I'd rather see Samantha Harris back or bring on Carson Kressley. Hell, Tom is awesome and he could handle the show himself.

I think it is very sad, when Maria can get on National TV and put down Americans.  She said, for you Americans, that means Butt and I am proud to be Greek.  Maria, you should be proud to be Greek, but there is a time and place to say that and this was the wrong place and time.  Your Dad and Mother worked hard to give you what you have and you blow it in 1 hour.  I tell this story to the Veterians and Solders and they say.  We are fighting for her Freedon and she has the nerve to put us down.  That is Sick and Wrong.  Maria, you have runed Dancing with the Stars, for alot of us.  I hope you are proud.  I am SAD.    By for now.  Sad Viewer.

Brooke is one of the highlights of the show. I could watch her all night. BTW, if there's another woman in America who delivered 4 kids and looks like that let her step forward. Those criticizing her are most likely fat, ugly, man hating dikes.

Melissa, then Roshon will be the next to go.  The other are too good.  Too bad the dance challenge is not being used any more.  Katherine should be the winner with Maria second, then William and Donald.  That my opinion of course.

I think the reason that Melissa is all frowny durring the dance that she is concentrating so hard just to keep up with the difficult choregraphy. I LOVE to watch Maks and will continue to vote for them.
The judges work very hard to try to get them into the bottom 2 so they can boot them. America is not stupid.

Of course this is a popularity contest for now. Melissa is loved by a huge amount of people.  That means ratings...duh, this is television.  I suspect that they will keep Melissa until the end and in the end, dancing will win out.

it is a popularity contest.  Thats why so many other good dancers leave and so-so ones stay.  Fan base.  Eventually the good one are left, it just takes a while for the so -so ones to get weeded out.  the dance challenge at least gave the judges the chance to keep a good dancer that was being forced out early.  I like that part.  Brooke-Burke.....get rid of her, very boring, just like her dancing before.

The dance-off is supposed to be judged strictly on that dance alone, not on how the contestants have done throughout the weeks.  I'd agree with the judges that last night, on that dance, Roshon beat out Jaleel.

I will admit that I gave the majority of my votes this week to Melissa.  She may not be the best dancer, but she's not as bad as the scores the judges have been giving her.  I will be surprised if she's a finalist.  I don't think she's that good, but I think she deserved at least one more week, due to the judges' bias against her.

Jaleel is an OK dancer - middle of the pack only.  But his attitude and behavior are poor.  I watch his face during the rehearsal clips, during the judging and other times, and I don't like the attitude I see.  And anyone who would call sweet Kym Johnson "stupid" is not a nice person at all.

I hope Katherine and Mark take it all.  I also predict Maria and Derek and Donald and Peta in the finals.

Jaycee3...I totally agree with you....in addition Melissa's overall attitude is very unappealing. It would be nice to buy her for what she is worth and sell her for what she thinks she is worth.

Well, I posted yesterday that the judges will be the demise of this show and last night's elimination proves just that!    Although the 'dance off' at the end was MUCH closer call than when Roshon and Gladys did this ----do you remember who Carrie Ann voted to keep that night?   Yep, that's right - she chose Gladys over Roshon ---now Gladys was a great lady and very gracious on the show -but there was NO comparison in the dancing between the two.
And now last night - Carrie Ann again chose Roshon, but so did the other judges, I know.   But, the DANCING ABILITY - which is what I thought they were to be judging - is really no comparison between Jaleel and Roshon.   Jaleel proved his diversity thru the weeks - where Roshon is just okay.    Very, very disappointed the way this show is becoming - should I say ---political?
