Scotty McCreery is back in the house, y'all, holding his microphone all weird and singing about young-boy things with an old man voice. Also, someone will be eliminated for choosing the wrong personal idol. Wouldn't it be great if their personal idol could eliminate them in person? Like, if Deandre goes home, Eric Benet would come out of the audience and wink at the camera. Cut to commercial! I think Deandre could be going home tonight, even though he may have reached a personal best with his performance.

After all the tears shed and all the standing and sitting the judges did last night, someone will have to go home. It's the same every week: Someone's gotta go! It's time to let Jesus and/or the voters take the wheel.

This week's results show introduction argues that "everyone has their favorite," and I just don't know if that's true. I am not sure I have a favorite yet. Wednesday night I was in quite the mood, so everyone was my least favorite. I wanted everyone to lose and go home and be sad like me! The life of a blogger!

Scotty McCreery and Nicki Minaj are performing -- hopefully together! That would be fantastic. But first, some "breaking" Aerosmith news: They're going on tour! The tour is called the Global Warming tour, evidently because they had to be warmed from their cryogenic freeze.

Then Ryan displayed some tweets from their personal idols, and brought Eric Benet out on stage. My dreams are coming true! I guess Eric Benet is really not that busy. He said everyone, specifically Deandre, did an incredible job. Deandre cried.

DeAndrewithEric.jpg

But you haven't cried for real until you've seen the Ford Music Video. The kids are trying to move a bunch of old TVs into their Fords. Then, they're stacking them up and watching themselves on the wall of TVs. What a fun party. Bye, Eric Benet. Thanks for watching that special video with us.

Next, another special video. The contestants are moving from the hotel into the Hollywood mansion, all to Lana Del Rey's "Video Games." Ugh, this song! The kids go tearing through the mansion, except Elise and Phillip, who handle the situation like adults. The mansion is absolutely sick, though. It's a shame these kids will soon be ruining it and leaving their dirty Tommy Hilfiger clothes all over the floor.

So, who has to move out of the lap of luxury this week? Results comin' at us hard! Elise, Hollie and Phillip hit the stage first. My guess is Hollie from this group. Jimmy Iovine says Elise did herself and "American Idol" a lot of good with her performance: She deserves to stay. Jimmy also dropped the hint that next week's theme is the 1980s. Awesome!

Jimmy says if Stevie likes Phillip, we all should. Phillip is a big, big star and flawless. They can't get enough of this kid! Jimmy thinks Hollie lacks experience and is a bit behind the pack, specifically Jessica, who is her direct competition. Love you for keepin' it real, Jimmy! Hollie is in the bottom three. Phillip and Elise are safe.

Why are you clapping?

Nicki Minaj performs next, sans Scotty McCreery. But they really should collaborate at some point. She's giving Old Navy-commercial realness on this night and cleavage visible from space. This choreography certainly has a lot of jumping, doesn't it? Nicki Minaj looks uncomfortable at times and keeps tugging at her clothes. If you can call them clothes. Not to be out-creeped by me, Ryan comments on the "high-risk" nature of Nicki's choreography and costuming in tandem.

Colton, Joshua and Heejun join Ryan onstage. I think it will be Heejun from this group. Jimmy says Colton was "good but not good enough." He then adds, "This is not the end of your concert where you can lose it and cry and your fans will be with you." Haha, Jimmy is so harsh! Jimmy says Joshua delivered 85 percent of the song, but his emotion got the best of him. And he loved Joshua in the Michael Jackson medley. Jimmy says it was great to see Heejun come back, but it wasn't enough: "He doesn't sing as well as the other eight contestants." Colton is safe. Joshua is safe, and Heejun is in the bottom three.

Scotty McCreery! They put the mic on a stand so he couldn't hold it like a flute. He sure is trying, though! His song is about water towers and football and living in the South. Bless his country-lovin' heart! He seems a lot more confident now that he's on the charts and not auditioning for the judges' approval. This kid has some real stage presence now. Good for him. The song was just OK, but at least it wasn't that god-awful song about how boys like peaches or whatever Lauren Alaina was singing about.
scottywatertower.jpg

Jimmy Iovine brought out Scotty's platinum record, which was pretty cool. I know you might not like him, but I feel like Scotty is the son I never had because I would have been way too young to bear children at the time.

Deandre, Skylar and Jessica get their results last. Jimmy says Skylar always gives something that makes him want to vote for her, but the song was too much of a "character song." He thinks she will be in the middle of the pack. What did Jimmy think of Deandre (man of the hour)? Jimmy is right in the middle: He's not going crazy for Deandre or disliking him, but he thinks Deandre needs more experience. Jimmy says Jessica is, as ever, a professional with skillful vocals and says we need a little "girl power" this season. Alrighty. Jessica is safe, and Skylar is in the bottom threeSay what?! Deandre is safe? Well, I never. Maybe it's backlash from last week? Backlash that didn't exist for Heejun, evidently.

It appears Heejun knows he's going home next to these two girls. Ryan sends Skylar to safety (where she belongs). And the singer at risk is Heejun. No! I mean, yes. But alas! The judges won't use their save on him: He's just too far behind. And he disrespected the competition, evidently. Man, this sucks. I'm going to miss the Heejun we didn't get to see this week -- the funny one! His personality was one of the main reasons I enjoyed this season. At least he'll have the best farewell clip package of all time!
tearsforHeejun.jpg

Heejun thanks the crowd, knowing full well he is going home. Jennifer cries because Heejun was delightful. Steven lowers the boom: "You saw this coming yourself after last week ... We're gonna have to let you go, man." Oh, my god. It sounds like they're putting him down. Heejun's farewell tribute video reminds us of his hilarious feud with Richie the Cowboy -- his legacy.

What do you think of Thursday night's results? Did America get it right?

"American Idol" airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.

YES, America Got It Right and should have made this call last week.  How Heejun ever made it into the top 10 is a mystery to me!

America got it right.  He's been inconsistent throughout the competition and failed to take it seriously and it cost him.  Great personaity but it's a singing competition.  His last song was his best but if you want to see a better version by an AI contestant, do a search on YouTube for Elliot Yamin. Best version of this song on American Idol.Smile

America got it right. This wasn't a comedy contest.  Curly can go next and then the country rabbit.  A couple of the good singers need to learn to control the emotions because America doesn't buy into cry babies. Holley needs to show some type of personality if she hopes to stick around much longer. Overall I'm still a fan of Idol.  This year has shown us some real talent worth watching.

I think Heejun had the most personality of all the contestants.  It showed he is secure with who he is as a person.  It is ridiculous that Deandre is still in the competition and that the judges are praising him.  I have to fast forward or turn the volume down when he sings because he is so awful.  I don't care how difficult or rare the judges say his sound is it doesn't make it good.  Thank God it's rare because it is just horrible.  I don't understand???  The only interesting contestants left are Colton, Phillip and Elise.

I had hoped DeAndre would be going home. His thin, screeching voice is more than unsettling. Heejun was fun, but he started off on the wrong foot. I was surprised Hollie was in the bottom two, as she has been consistently good.

It was the right pick, more based on his past performances.  They all did darn well on their songs so I think it was more determined on past peformances.  I have to agree with most that I really don't get Deandre's high runs with some of that being off key.  Just to me not a lot of singing there....and more of, "look at how high I can sing AND I am a guy!"

The rest.....darn, darn close.  This will be an interesting rest of the shows.  Some darn good talent there.......It will come down to who messes up.....but if no one does, like this week, who goes?  Tough, very tough.  Great show this year.

HeeJun should NOT have been voted off and the judges screwed up when they did not use their one SAVE!!  Skaylar is the one that should have left.  She isn't bad but let's get real, she doesn't hold a candle to the others.  And yes, HeeJun was a "fun" guy and at times, a bit "TOO FUN" on camera but that should not have anything to do with the great voice that he has.  GO HEEJUN!!!

Finally! A season with many talented singers. Starting to seem like the final 3 may be Colton, Jessica and Phillip. All deserve kudos. Joshua needs to work on controlling his voice more-too much screaming. Elise is making quite a comeback from those critical first performances. Hollie has talent but her voice is easily lost in her choice of material. Deandre should leave next week- his faltering falsetto is annoying and there is no market for that sound he has. He may stick around awhile though because 13 year olds are fascinated by adrongynous teenage singers-Bieber etc.

I know that Heejun wasn't the best out of the ones left, but I loved him like mad and it broke my heart to see him leave. Something about him tugs at my heartstrings. Maybe because he obviously has so little confidence in himself and he always seemed to be waiting for that other shoe to drop, and that just killed me. I hope he does well in life and gains some faith in himself, because he's such a sweet kid.

They got it wrong. Although HeeJun never would have won anyhow. I would much rather listen to him then Deandre. I don't get what they see or hear in him. He sounds like he was just kicked in a place no man wants to be kicked. After he gets booted it sould be Joshua. When he is not screatching like a cat getting run over by a semi. (as bad as adam Lambert) He is not to bad.

Damn!  I had it set to tape while I bowled league and somehow I got an hour of "How I Met your Mother" instead.  I think like some have said, it's not that Heejun was bad this week it's that no one was bad so past performances played a big role including his breathless butchery of Billy Joel last week.  He probably should have been out for that one so the voters seem to be running a week late?

NashvilleImages, I really can't pick the final 3 yet as someone different seems to step up each week.  I agree about the falsetto and although I think he's been better lately, he's had some major pitch problems at times, but what is a "Sylvester-like diva falsetto"?  For some reason I'm picturing him saying "thuffering thuckitash.  I can't thing."  It's either that or I have to picture Sylvester Stallone singing falsetto.

If I was at the mansion now with them, I would be totally bummed to see Heejun leave, I bet he is a hoot to be around and would have made living in that mansion the rest of the season a blast. He seems to joke to hide how insecure he is which is actually kinda sad, I am sure he truly feels for what those kids go through that he works with and helps. He really seems like a great guy and I hope he does great things with his life. GOOD LUCK to you Heejun Red roseRed heart

I can not believe that Deandre wasn't at least in the bottom 3, How Skylar got there is beyond me. Hollie I can understand...She sings very well but to me her and Jessica are not people I would pay to see in concert where as Skylar, Phillip, and Elise are. They have more soul and power and are much more interesting and entertaining. It's singing competition of course but you have to have the whole package and be someone that will sell records and concert tickets so to me the 3 I mentioned are the ones who should be left standing. Smile

PS-Can't stand Nikki Minaj but did like that song, good beat, kinda interesting.

Scotty is awesome, I am so proud of him as if I had something to do with his success- LOL!!! He just warms my heart and I think he has an awesome voice. Certainly a country voice and only one genre but nothing wrong with that. Those good ole country boys are the best Thumbs up

Happy Friday ya all!!!!

The best thing about last night's show was Ryan's comment about Nicki Minajh! IMO she is a disgrace to

the music industry and has no business letting it all hang out on a show that is geared to young girls.

I'm a bit disappointed in the results. I would have preferred to see curly leave before Heejun. But Heejun cooked his goose last week and got serious too late for it to matter.

Totally wrong, pretty boy with the curls doesn't belong on this show, he's terrible!!!Skylars great,& Heejun was great, he made a mistake,, but they should have saved him, I hope someone sees his greatness, & picks him up to record. I wouldn't play Deandre's music if they gave it to me!!

Well, I have to admit, even though he was not the greatest voice in the competition, I think it was unfortunate to see Heejun go: he has a quality - a presence - rarely seen in these competitions.  He obviously is not self-absorbed.  He has a big heart and his heart came through, whether he was just having fun, or getting serious with his singing.  I hope he gets more mileage out of his exposure, and I bet he will.  I liked his voice a lot - but with his genius for comic timing,  wouldn't he be outstanding in a sitcom?!  I realize the judges have to stick to the goal of the show - but I think they made a PR mistake by not using their "save" this week: they could have taken that out of play [all the singers are quite good this year], and hasn't everyone looked forward to finding out "what will Heejun do next"?
Mar 30, 2012 7:09AM

Jimmie said it harshly, I agree.  Heejun is not the caliber of singer the others have shown.  Excluding Deandre.  I just can't get into the falsetto thing. Perhaps he can do the prince prance, but so far that has not been shown. The others have shown points of brilliance, although not every week. The competition seems to be around 5 folks, and I have great hope for a Hollie moment, as well as, Joshua calming down a little. I support Americas Heejun farewell, even though I liked his personality/comedy when it was not beyond understanding. Great year for talent.

Bah I missed the comment.  What was it?  I'll have to find the show online.   I'm surprised they'd have a train wreck like Nikki Minaj  on the show.  What's next?  Are they going to have MIA come on and flip off the audience?
