Producers behind the hit TV talent show are currently searching for a panelist to join newcomer Mariah Carey for the next season following the departures of Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. Minaj is rumored to be in contention for the coveted job, and the show's former winner Sparks is convinced the rapper would make a great judge.

She tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "I think Nicki would be great. It would be so fun to see what she does because she's so unpredictable. I met her the other day, and she is so sweet." Sparks is also a fan of another potential panelist --country singer Keith Urban. She adds, "I think it would be cool to bring somebody with a country flair who has that experience."
"American Idol" returns in January 2013 on FOX.
While a lot of people did not like Simon he really knew talent, no matter how rude sometime he was. Randy, and Paula was the balance. Nicki Minaj may work well for some of the teeny bopper fans, but I do not think she could judge American Idol. I mean she is not really talented in my opinion. I guess in this music industry today you don't have to have talent because sex seems to outweigh talent.
Sean Combs would be excellent as a judge, he has tremendous recording and producing experience and many years of stage experience also.
Alicia Keys
Keri Hilson
Justin Timberlake
Monica
Kelly Rowland
would all be great.
Minaj and Urban, not enough personality.
Lopez and Tyler were incredible on the show because they were fun!
Are you kidding me........have this no-talent freak be a judge will be the death-knell for the show. This is a stupid idea on so many levels............so if you want the show to continue in its decline and end up as a "no-watch" show, except for the crowd that takes anyting that is absurd, vile and untalented as talent.
The lose of Jackson, Lopez and Tyler was probably prophetic to the end of the show, but to put someone like Minaj in there place is a joke at best.
