The episode opens with Glenn seated in an interrogation room with Merle. Merle is still sore at being left by Rick's group chained to a rooftop in Atlanta, and is insistent that Glenn tells him where his brother Daryl is. With Maggie chained and listening in the other room, Merle starts punching Glenn.
At the prison, Michonne is behind the locked fence with Rick watching. Walkers surround Michonne, smell her fresh blood and start attacking her. She defends herself, but is clearly weak and collapses to the group. Carl and Rick come to her rescue. After examining her for bite marks, they discover that she's been shot and carry her into the prison. Michonne is hesitant to tell them who she is, and more reluctant to accept their help, so Rick locks her in a cell. In the adjoining cell block, Carol is tearfully reunited with the rest of the group.
Back in Woodbury, the Governor answers his bedroom door while Andrea is getting dressed behind him, telling her he will need her help with something.
Rick demands that Michonne tells him how she found them at the prison. She reveals that she overheard Glenn and Maggie speak of the prison in the adjoining town, and saw them being taken by Merle to Woodbury.
In the interrogation room, Glenn has been clearly beaten down by Merle, but Glenn still refuses to reveal the location of Rick's group. Glenn is optimistic that Rick would come to their aid along with the rest of the group, including Andrea. But Merle smiles, and says, "Is that right?" knowing that Glenn is lying as Andrea has been in Woodbury all along.
Hershel is treating Michonne's gun wound, under careful watch by Carl. Oscar, Daryl and Rick decide to go to Woodbury to find Glenn and Maggie. Rick and Carl finally speak of Lori's death, Rick promising that he never wants Carl to go through that again. He asks Carl to take care of his baby sister, and they decide to name her "Judith," after Carl's third grade teacher.
Andrea is taken to a room where Milton, Woodbury's resident scientist, is feeding a sickly old man in a hospital bed. The Governor introduces Andrea to the old man, Mr. Coleman, and thanks him for doing them "a great service." The Governor leaves, and Milton begins performing a memory test on Mr. Coleman.
In the interrogation room, Merle comes in with a walker and unleashes him on Glenn, who is strapped to a chair. Miraculously, Glenn survives, stabbing the walker in the head with part of the chair he was strapped to.

We learn that the scientist has been using Mr. Coleman as a test subject for a cognition and memory experiment, with hopes of finding a cure for the infection. Andrea is skeptical, asking Milton if he's ever seen someone "turn." Milton has not, they then see that Mr. Coleman has stopped breathing and strap him down to the hospital bed.
The Governor walks into Maggie's interrogation cell, and unbinds her hands with his knife. He sits down across from her, telling her he will bring her back to her people if she just tells them where they are. Maggie asks to see Glenn, but the Governor won't allow it. She refuses to reveal their location, so the Governor asks her to take off her shirt, threatening to bring her Glenn's hand if she doesn't do it. Maggie removes her shirt and bra, the Governor approaches her, stroking her hair. He pushes her against the top of the table, and Maggie tells him to "go to hell."
Rick, Oscar, Daryl and Michonne arrive by car about a mile outside of Woodbury and disembark. Trekking through the forest, Rick thanks Daryl for taking care of the group while he was having his meltdown following Lori's death. Daryl replies, "It's what we do." The foursome is approached by a hoard of walkers, so they seek refuge in an abandoned house. However, they find that the house isn't exactly empty; a hermit is hiding under the covers in bed and starts making a raucous upon seeing Rick and his group. Michonne eventually kills the man and they use his body as a distraction for the walkers outside to make their escape.
In the experimentation room, Mr. Coleman has died and has turned into a walker. Milton insists on performing the memory test, hopeful that he can tap into Mr. Coleman's consciousness. Despite Andrea's protests, he removes one of the straps holding down the walker's arm. As expected, Mr. Coleman lunges for Milton and Andrea saves him by stabbing Mr. Coleman in the head.
Merle and the Governor drag a topless Maggie into Glenn's holding cell. Holding a gun to Glenn's head, the Governor demands that they tell him where their group is hiding. Emotional at seeing Glenn beaten and at gunpoint, Maggie blurts out that they've been staying in a prison with a group of ten others.
While the Governor makes plans for Rick's arrival, Rick and his team approach Woodbury. The Governor questions Merle's loyalties, knowing his brother is with Rick. In the final scene, Andrea meets the Governor in his room, and he asks how Milton's experiment went. She is clearly upset so he holds her and embraces her.
