The Muppets spread some holiday cheer before Dez gets his walking papers

It's time to play the music.

It's time to light the lights.

It's time to meet the top 6 on "The Voice" results tonight!

That's right, I'm in a very Muppetational mood, because not only is "The Voice" eliminating two more contestants but the Muppets are here for some holiday cheer. There are few things more joyous than the Muppets, so this should be a fun hour. I'm predicting Terry and Cody are going home tonight, so let's see how inaccurate I am this time around. As long as Statler and Waldorf mock Christina Aguilera, I'll be happy.

Bing: 'The Voice' | Photos: See more of the action from Season 3 | LNOTV: Watch recaps

This is "The Voice"!

Wardrobe Watch: Cee Lo Green is in a giant yellow track suit, making me think of Big Bird, while Christina Aguilera looks like a Fly Girl. Adam Levine seems to be stepping up the sexy bad-boy look, possibly trying to compete with Dez Duron.

Carson Daly lets us know that three artists hit the top 10 on iTunes and got their iTunes votes multiplied by 10: Cassadee Pope, Melanie Martinez and Nicholas David.

Amanda Brown and Trevin Hunte ("Marry the Night" by Lady Gaga)

It's a mini-reunion, as these two memorably met in the Battle Round when Cee Lo chose Trevin and Adam stole Amanda. Adam definitely looks like the winner in that transaction, as Amanda has soared higher and higher each week. I definitely give her the edge in this duet.

Carson chats with the coaches, and Xtina actually has a nice word to say about two of her former Mickey Mouse Club co-stars by mentioning that  they didn't win a singing-competition show but she still dominated the music scene alongside Britney and Justin. It's also worth noting that Nicholas David has his hair in some weird beehive-conehead thing.

Results: Part 1

The first singer safe is ... Cassadee Pope!

No duh. The girl's probably gonna win, especially if she keeps charting on iTunes, thus proving her commercial viability.

Team Cee Lo and the Muppets

Cee Lo Green heads to Las Vegas with contestants from his "Voice" teams over all three seasons. They meet up with the Muppets to do a holiday special. I can't decide if I'm happier to see Miss Piggy or Mackenzie Bourg.

Then it's back to the stage for a duet of "Bein' Green" by Cee Lo and Kermit. It's sweet and awesome, but the best part is that all the "Voice" personalities have been replaced by Muppets.

Gonzo is Carson Daly, Janice is Christina Aguilera, Animal is Adam Levine (of course) and Fozzie Bear is Blake Shelton, even pointing at himself as Shelton does. Statler and Waldorf have taken over Christina Milian's role. Man, how much better would this show be if those two old dudes replaced her as the social media correspondents?

Results: Part 2

The second singer safe is ... Amanda Brown!

Hooray! Thank you, "The Voice," for not making me sweat it out over Amanda like last week.

Cody Belew, Melanie Martinez, Nicholas David and Terry McDermott ("Rhythm of Love" by the Plain White Ts)

Whose idea was it to put these four together? Because it should be terrible, but it's not -- like a breakfast sandwich on a cinnamon raisin bagel (trust me, it's delicious). Terry is amazing, and his voice interplays well with Melanie's. It's just a nice, pleasant performance.

Carson and the top 8 on the radio

Carson drags the top 8 to his radio show for some interview training. Dez Duron calls Carson "the best of the best" when it comes to radio personalities. Really, dude? The contestants have to sing their own names, and Terry's Scottish ditty is adorable.

Results: Part 3

The third singer safe is ... Melanie Martinez!

The iTunes x10 factor strikes again! Good news for Team Adam, as both of his artists survive the night.

Dez Duron and Cassadee Pope ("Hate That I Love You" by Rihanna and Ne-Yo)

This explains why those four other finalists were grouped together -- because "The Voice" wanted to sex things up with this super-hot pairing. They do a great job together. I wouldn't be shocked to see both of them in the top 4.

Results: Part 4

The fourth singer safe is ... Nicholas David!

See, iTunes votes matter. A lot more than wardrobe, that's for damn sure.

Final results

The fifth singer safe is ... Terry McDermott!
The sixth singer safe is ... Trevin Hunte!

Dez Duron and Cody Belew are eliminated!

Wow. So all the eye candy is gone. Clearly my predictions are terrible, since I assumed Dez was definitely safe, being so pretty. Maybe "The Voice" skews older than I thought, especially since Nicholas David is still around.

I'm sad, as I loved both Dez and Cody, but I'm also kind of amused that Christina Aguilera is out of the competition. Good riddance to her next season, because she's clearly the worst coach. Now Adam, Blake and Cee Lo each have two artists left to fight it out. Part of me hopes Xtina doesn't even show up next week. She has no one left, and she's leaving for Season 4 anyway. Just bring in Shakira a little early to prepare. Or leave Janice the Muppet in her chair. I'm sure no one will notice the difference.

I guess "The Voice" really is different from "American Idol," because usually hot guys would last longer.

You said "clearly my predictions are terrible" which is true, however, you should have admitted that your entire column is terrible as well. No one wants to hear your biased and nasty, downright rude comments about any of these people. If you cannot be objective and professional then you clearly should find another profession altogether. Christina Aguilera is a person and that is her name; it's not Xtina. And these talented performers are just that; they are not "eye candy" as you put it. What are you, 12 years old? You don't know the first thing about these people and obviously you don't know a thing about music either. I found your entire column to be juvenile, insulting and distasteful.

Note to writer...this isn't a beauty contest, it's a singing competition. While I thought Cody had a good voice, Dez was HORRIBLE. He was the weakest of the group. His voice was flat, and nasally. As for team Xtina...I predicted in the beginning that team Xtina was going down hard. She had absolutely no diversity, other than Deborah, and she let her go!!. Every other team member, with the exception of Dez, was a mini Xtina. If she had kept Deborah, I believe she would still have a least one member left. I also believe if Ceelo had kept Avery instead of Cody, he would have this competition locked up...as much as I love Amanda.

Congratulations, John Kubicek, you just turned in another bland-as-hell book report. It seems there is no end to the stank of your penmanship. As usual, the sarcasm and passive aggressive nastiness in your recap is not entertaining, not humorous, and definitely not original. As a writer, why, oh why have you chosen to assume the persona of a vapid teenage girl?!?! Your biases are so transparent, it makes me gag. Sigh.

Anyway, I'm sorry for your loss: It seems it just wasn't meant to be for Dez and Cody. Don't fret, though, they'll always be there for you ... in your (wet) dreams.

Yay for the folks who made it into the top 6. I do feel bad about the two who were sent packing, especially Cody (I genuinely did like him), but it's getting down to the wire, and the six left standing are the ones that either (a) have the talent to warrant their stay or (b) have rabid fan bases who will stop at nothing to make sure their favorite *ahem, female* singer continues to advance. It isn't complicated.

Oh, and John, you really shouldn't be talking about how certain contestants--or rather, the one contestant who you seem to have a personal vendetta against for a reason known only to you--appeal just to "older" people since you ain't no spring chicken yourself, boo; your Buddy TV icon is QUITE telling.

And creepy.

YEAH, MY PREDICTION WAS CORRECT!

BOTH OF THESE GUYS WERE GREAT BUT DEFINTELY NOT "THE VOICE"

I AM HOPING IT WILL BE EITHER TREVIN OR AMANDA.

Nicholas David has a very different look but I really like his vocal style. He and Trevin Hunte are my favorites. Now that Christina's team is out does that mean we won't have to look at and listen to her anymore? I can only hope...

Tired of Cassedee, she is cookie cutter of katie, kelly and avril.  Nick is cool and trevin is so predictable with his luther vandross songs. Please we have enough of those. and Amanda , she is okay, but she is like Jennifer Hudson and we don't need another Jennifer, or Kelly, or Katie or Avril.  We need a person who can sing anything , who is cool not phony and who genuinely loves to entertain a wide variety of songs and that person is Terry.

I was thinking the same comparison to American Idol too!  Dez and Cody were the two least likely singers I expected to leave the show at this point.  They were good singers too and their looks were marketable from a financial standpoint.  Well, my new favorite is Amanda.  Normally, my DISH coworker comes over to watch The Voice with me each week.  I record it with the PrimeTime Anytime feature on my DISH Hopper DVR to watch later.  The nice part is it automatically records all of the evening shows on the four major networks so I don’t have to worry about being embarrassed when my friend comes over because I didn’t set the timer.

I'm glad Trevin made it through. As far as I'm concerned he is the voice. Although I wouldn't be unhappy to see Amanda win as I think she's a great singer too. I can't believe Melanie is still there. Who the hell is voting for her? Between the two tone hair and the bad teeth she is butt ugly and she's the least talented of the group. I can't stand to look at her much less listen to her and I keep hoping every week she'll go. Hopefully next week will be her last.

Well...voting on talent and nothing else the final three should be Terry, Trevin and Nicholas. There is not a female on the show as TALENTED as those three. "Nough said

Who gives a rat's ****? Who are the mindless mongoloids who are actually watching this crap? This is the worst form of low brow entertainment. You people are what's wrong with this country.

Trevin Hunte and Amanda Brown should be the last two standing. They are amazing!

Christina hurt Dez by telling the voters he was better than the rest, surely he felt that was wrong too. Her remarks made the voters turn against her not Dez.

She obviously could not bring herself to compliment Trevin after his performance.

Dez's song this week was not the right choice.

He will go on to do big things, so talented!

Trevin should continue to do ballads, Brian Mc Knight/R Kelly/Maxwell.

He's incredible!

Here's two suggestions....

1. Create a new boy band with Dez Duron, Cody Belew and 2 or 3 other singers from this or the last two seasons of Voice.   They'd knock One Direction out of the spotlight in a heartbeat.

2. Dez Duron and Cassadee Pope as Edward and Bella in the musical version of Twilight!

Personally, I wouldn't go see it if you paid me, but I'm not in the Twilight demographic.

With these show I look forward to the Elimination.  This is always my favorite part.  I never cared much for any of these shows.  I never bought the music nor spent any money on a concert or memorabilia.  I wonder what a Justin shirt that is signed from A.I one would fetch now(haha):)

well, christina, u shud not have picked dez...is he the "chris mann" of this season?  got ur cackles up huh?  boy toy? there were better singers christina - shudda picked one of them.  cody was interesting but reminds me of adam lambert a bit - but adam was unique (ring of fire)

for me, it will be trevin and amanda in the finale (not that old white dude here - but both sing the cooties out of songs).   adam will do better with amanda than c lee with trevin.  DAYUM c lee, give this monster voice some hard songs to bring out his talent - and not songs u want to hear him sing.

"listen" and "take a look at me now" were DAYUM good.

melanie is this seasons xenia...and may be gone next week.  cassadee shud not be in this 6....so what if she hits the top, she a is middle of the road singer.  rocker?  nothing like ann wilson or pat benatar or joan jett or......  she cudnt make glee....but i wish her well.

i dont think terry or nicholas will go to the final.  terrys voice is just okay.  nicholas brings back memories of my youth - but doesnt fit the bill as a "hottie".

@pixie6..... nicholas david shud do a boz scaggs song.   yes...he is a throwback to the 70s/80s but its nice to hear real songs again.

i'm not sure how old you actually are...but i'm not that old and i love nicholas david....and i find it insulting that you keep referring to his music as music for "older people".is it possible that maybe there are those of us who actually appreciate true artistry, regardless of the era in which a song was written...the genre of music that he sings is not dated or old fashioned.it is unique and soul touching.perhaps, there are those of us out there that would prefer to see someone really sing from the heart, regardless of our age,and not just,as you have mentioned on several occasions, just another cover from"glee"....

Glad that Cody is gone, he has undeniable talent but is just grating.  Very surprised Dez didn't make it, I thought the "little girls voting" factor would carry him into the finals, plus the guy can sing.  Happy for Nicholas, he's bizarre but has a knack for the old stuff, if he doesn't win I can definitely see him having a successful career in either Vegas or Branson.  I'm pretty surprised that Melanie is still around, she's good at what she does but she's VERY limited, and I can't really see her having a broad commercial appeal.  No surprise that Cassadee is doing this well, however cookie-cutter she might be she probably has the broadest appeal.  Terry is a classic rocker through and through, but like Nicholas may ultimately be better suited for clubs than radio airplay.  That leaves the two strongest, Trevin and Amanda...I can really see these two in the finals against each other, just like the battle round they faced off in.  I hope Trevin's former teacher has been watching and feels like the stupid b!tch that she is, but I'm really pulling for Amanda...she has a great set of pipes, a great stage presence, and I admittedly have a weakness for women who can rock.  Here's hoping she goes back to that approach she had early on, and drops the slower numbers she's been doing recently.

This review was almost as fun as watching last night's "Voice."   I would have hated to miss this season's diversity and memorable performances. As for being different from "Idol," yes, the show titles tell all. Time for me to skip the other two shows next time around.
