Bradley Whitford wins 'Trophy Wife' lead
Former 'West Wing' star to play Malin Akerman's much older husband, hilarity to ensue

Oh, the irony: A single-camera network sitcom about a man with two ex-wives. And that's just the tip of the comedy iceberg amassed by ABC's upcoming pilot, "The Trophy Wife."
TV Line reports that former "West Wing"-er Bradley Whitford (seen of late in early cancellation victim "The Good Guys") has signed on to the project. The Emmy winner will play a twice-divorced middle-aged man with three kids who marries the disproportionately young and attractive (sorry, Bradley) Malin Akerman.
So, as you can surmise, the concept is torn straight from the pages of reality. On the upside, two "Office" writers are serving among its executive producers. And who doesn't like upside?
