Crossover for 'Happy Endings' and 'Apartment 23'?
Report: Producers want it bad, idea wouldn't be a typical cast swap
"Happy Endings" may cross the hall into "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23" this fall. And, according to TV Guide, the portal connecting these alternative universes will be James Van Der Beek, who plays a version of himself on "Apartment 23."

The idea -- pitched by "Happy Endings" executive producer Jonathan Groff to "Apartment 23" creator Nahnatchka Kahn -- wouldn't be a typical cast swap. Rather, the gang from "Happy Endings," which precedes "Apartment 23" on this fall's ABC schedule, will end an episode by happily watching "Dawson's Creek" and wondering aloud what ever happened to Van Der Beek.

"They have some theories about what he's doing now and then they go right into our show and we see what James is doing," Kahn told the magazine, adding: "I would love it."
