Mila Kunis producing retro-feminist CW drama

Former 'That '70s Show' star returns to familiar decade with 'Meridian Hills'

Typically teen-oriented CW has its hands full with numerous cross-demographic reboots, including new takes on "Great Expectations" and "Wonder Woman," among others. So it was just a matter of time before they greenlit a period piece that stemmed from an original idea. Enter Mila Kunis, who Hollywood Reporter says is executive producer of "Meridian Hills," a drama set in the early '70s about a newlywed woman seeking to make strides for women's equality in her Midwest town.

Just to put your curiosities at ease, Kunis is not expected to appear on-screen in the series as of yet. In fact, she's one of at least several EPs attached to "Meridian Hills," including her management team and relatively unknown show scribe Sydney Sidner. Shockingly, boyfriend and general Hollywood busybody Ashton Kutcher is not reported to be involved. Yet.

I wonder what the twist is? 70's white woman looking for equality has kind of been told in film and TV.  The stories of women from other ethnic groups might be more intense, so I'll hope she's think of a diverse group in casting.
