'Young and the Restless' revs up for 40th anniversary

"The Young and the Restless" turns 40 on Tuesday, March 26, and the party has already begun. The longtime number one soap opera has launched a website packed with nostalgia, as well as a chance to win a trip to celebrate with the cast and crew in Los Angeles.

In preparation for the big day, "The Young and the Restless" has already launched its 40 anniversary website. The site promises classic photo galleries, as well as video interviews and live chats with the stars. Upcoming live chats include Lauralee Bell and Sharon Case (Thursday, Feb. 21) and Peter Bergman and Michelle Stafford (Tuesday, Feb. 26).

In addition, fans can log on the anniversary site to answer trivia questions covering the last four decades and enter to win a trip to the "The Young and the Restless" set in Los Angeles. A new trivia game will be published approximately every seven days. Fans receive one entry for each individual trivia game completed. The sweepstake closes March 10 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET.

 

"The Young and the Restless" airs weekdays on CBS.

Used to love watching the Young and Restless, now am sick of Victor and the fact that the show is the poster child for VD.  The writting on the show is not near as good as it the past and now I do not watch it.

I love Y&R, as many of you I have watched it from the beginning. It has been my favorite over the years and It's still the only one for me! One of the story lines I remember best was when the actress, that plays Lauren was buried alive by a stalker and Paul had to rescue her! Brilliant storyline! Great job Y&R!  I'll keep watching!

Y & R is definitely my favorite soap of ALL time. I have been a loyal watcher since the first. I have seen so many actors come & go and the last year has brought several disappointments.

I liked Ashley & Tucker together.

I hope Avery chose's Dylan(they are very HOT together).

I know Adam & Sharon have ALL this chemistry but could you please take it away from both of the.

Adam needs to be with Chelsea and even though she is a mess right now, I still think Sharon & Nick are good together.

Also, go ahead & put Phyllis & Jack together, again..

Please leave Lily & Cane's relationship alone, don't let anyone interfere with it!!!!

Would like to see Neil with someone but I don't like who he is with now. Did Dru really die? It would be a GREAT time to bring her back!!

Last, please let Nikki & Victor stay together and I hope the diagnosed MS doesn't play to much into her role.

They are so GREAT together, they remain to give ALL of us a feeling that there is a special someone for us out there!!

Oh, I forgot one couple Lauren & Michael.

Please leave them together & don't let her have an affair on Michael.

Come on Lauren ya'll have been through to much to mess it up !!

I could go on & on  but I will finish for now and hope the writer's will read our comments!!

David Hasselhoff wasn't the original Snapper.  William Grey was even sexier than David!!  But, I did enjoy them both .  There have been so many stars coming out of all the Soaps.  Young and the Restless is still the #1 and only for me!!

My best friend got me watching from age 14 and I watched it religiously until I was about 28ish or so.  I've been away from it for too long to probably get back into it but I DO love how just about every major character has stayed with the show for decades...that really speaks well for the producers, writers, crew, just every one.  And seeing that Victor and Nikki, Jack, etc even Katherine are still there makes me feel young still.  I know that's kind of goofy but just how I feel. Congratulations Y&R cast and crew!

Love Y&R and Bold & Beautiful along with Guiding Light which was sadly canceled.

Victor, Adam, Nikki, Michael, Chelsea, Victoria, Billy, Devon, Katherine, Murphy, Mason, Chloe and Kevin are the best!

Avery is great with Dylan.

Mason needs more airtime. Him and Chelsea would be good together.Disappointe​d Adam and Chelsea broke up.

The show needs more upscale homes, after all most of the characters are wealthy.

The storyline between Lauren and Carmine is excellent.

I can't believe I have watched this show since the very first episode. I record them daily in case I am not home to see them.  I hope this soap continues on for many more years.

The soap is fictional people.  Get in touch with reality.

I wish Sharon would get over Adam and leave him alone so he could be with Chelsea. Love Avery with Dylan more chemistry than with Nick

Like some of the other comments, I have been watching since the beginning and probably always will. I also agree with another post in that I wish Sharon would go away permanently! I am sick to death of her!

I am 70yrs.old. I watch Y&R everyday. I love the soap. I have always told everyone that when I die thatI pray that in Heaven that there's a T.V.so that I can watch my favorite show. Love Love  Love the show.
