Final Season of 'Fringe' Kicks Off With a Bang
FOX releases Season 5 trailer full of spoilers

"The battle to save mankind is about to begin."
So intones Walter Bishop (John Noble) shortly before the action and pathos-packed Season 5 opener of "Fringe" begins. Although the first installment in the beloved sci-fi drama's final season airs Friday, FOX has wasted no time getting fans pumped up with a web promo full of spoilers.

As the trailer shows, "Fringe" has taken on a very different feel in its final go-round. For starters, the show is set in 2036 now, and the those rather bald, pale and pesky Observers have taken over ... and they do not come in peace.

Other plot points fans can look forward to when "Fringe" returns is an Olivia (Anna Torv) and Peter (Joshua Jackson) reunion, Walter's disdain for a futuristic food called egg sticks and the brilliant use of Alison Moyet's haunting tune, "Only You."
If the opener is any indication, Season 5 of "Fringe" will not disappoint.
