Amanda Peet Rounds Out 'Good Wife' Family
Recent NBC cast-off joins CBS drama's growing A-list roster

One major network's loss is another's gain. Just a couple months back, NBC canceled the Amanda Peet-led sitcom "Bent," despite some positive initial response from viewers and critics. CBS, befitting their ocular logo, was clearly keeping an eye on the actress' availability, as she's already been snagged for a recurring part on "The Good Wife."According to TV Line, the sometime-film star will join Julianna Margulies and the gang in Season 4 as a military attorney who initiates a sexual harassment suit and turns to Lockhart & Gardner for help. Apparently, Peet's as-yet-unnamed character and Margulies' Alicia Florrick also become gal pals along the way, which shouldn't create any conflicts of interest during actual courtroom proceedings.

If Peet's worried about the step down from prime-time lead to supporting player, she's in pretty good company. Other upcoming guest regulars include Maura Tierney, Kristin Chenoweth and Nathan Lane, who is no doubt hoping to eclipse his infamous dramatic TV role as slain comedian Morty Price on "Miami Vice."
"The Good Wife" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
