'DWTS' Recap: Boys on the Side
Michael Irvin and Mark Dacascos sent packing from 'Dancing With the Stars'
By Kate Mulcrone Special to MSN TV
First, we said goodbye to Michael Irvin on "Dancing With the Stars." He's been at the bottom of the scoreboard for five weeks running, so it wasn't exactly a surprise. Ironically enough, this week's foxtrot was his best dance ever. Michael fought hard to stay in the competition as long as he did, and I'm sure he's not disappointed with himself.

The second elimination of the night came as more of a surprise. "Iron Chef America" chairman Mark Dacascos did not prevail in the dance-off, so he packed his knives and went home.
The dance-off was intense! Both Mark and Aaron did amazingly well. Mark's acrobatic cha-cha impressed the judges -- even if he did get a little crazy with the cartwheels. But, Aaron's jive was absolutely perfect. It was, frankly, unbeatable.

During competition this week, Mark danced with Anna Trebunskaya instead of his regular partner Lacey, and the change did not do him good. Their samba was riddled with errors. As we all know, one bad night on "Dancing With the Stars" is all it takes to go home. Mark will definitely be missed!
Here's how our remaining stars did this week, in the order that Tom called their names:

Her salsa was flirty and fun, just like Kelly herself. She certainly brought her A game this week, but Kelly has been plagued by nerves in the past. Let's hope she can keep it together next week.

His quickstep sure wasn't his best dance ever, but it was still pretty darn good. It's easy to forget that Donny is our most, er, seasoned competitor at this point, because he has the grace and fluidity of a much younger man. Let's hope he keeps up the good work.

Her Fred-and-Ginger-style foxtrot was a hit with the judges. Well, at least with two of them. Len wasn't a fan of the gimmicks in the routine. Even though she hasn't topped the scoreboard in the past three weeks, Mya is still a force to be reckoned with in this competition.

It was great to see Joanna and Derek back on top of their game with a graceful, sensual rumba. Hey, it's not every day that Bruno calls someone a "love goddess." Joanna has always been good, but in the past two weeks she's really stepped up her dancing. Watch out, Mya!

Aaron Carter
His frenetic jive was unlike anything we've ever seen in this competition. (And it was great to see Aaron having fun for once instead of smirking like Draco Malfoy.) For the first time all season, Aaron had the crowd behind him. The people in that theater aren't the ones voting, though, and Aaron ended up in the bottom three. His dance-off jive was probably the best routine we've seen onstage all season, and it saved him. I'm starting to wonder if this kid has nine lives.
The Scorecard
Who won the week: Aaron Carter and Joanna Krupa
Who needs to step it up: Kelly Osbourne and Aaron Carter

I am confused....Carrie Ann Inaba noted to Mark Dacascos that his dance was disjointed on Monday night...didn't flow, etc. and then she pats Kelly on the back for her performance? Kelly hesitated several times...and I am no pro dancer, but even I saw it and I thought the dance lacked greatly in hoopla!....what gives? She should have gone home.
Just one comment on Anna Demidova....I think that she may be a good dancer but doesn't seem to be in the same caliber with the other professional dancers and I do not think that she has the talent in choreographing a dance.
