'Fringe' Stars Wave Goodbye to Fans at Comic-Con
Fifth and final season teased with a trailer, will air in September
There are few panels more touching and popular than the ones of the farewell variety. We've seen it for "Smallville" and "Chuck" and this year when Fox's sci-fi hit "Fringe" promoted its fifth and final season, sentimental fans turned out by the thousands Sunday for the first panel of the day in Hall H.

Some carried photos of white tulips while others donned fedoras, which Fox gave away as gifts and fun nods to those ruthless observers. Speaking of the observers, executive producer Joel Wyman said they will get more villainous in season five, which will take place nearly 25 years in the future and kick off Sept. 28.
Wyman celebrated and plugged the farewell season of "Fringe" with the help of the drama's stars Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, John Noble, Lance Reddick and Jasika Nicole. The only cast member missing was Blair Brown, who plays Nina Sharp. Brown is fighting a cold, Wyman said, before recording a get-well message from the crowd on his iPhone.
The panel took an emotional turn when moderator Damian Holbrook of TV Guide asked the cast what their favorite scenes were not involving them. That's when Nicole started tearing up while recounting the graceful subtly of Torv's Olivia doing away with the traces of Alternate Olivia in her home.
Then Torv got weepy while praising Nicole for the episode where Astrid meets her Alternate self and discovers the Alternate had a fractured relationship with her father.
