NBC Picks Up 'F--- I'm in My Twenties'

Peacock network turning blog into prime-time comedy

Just when you thought the publishing industry was dead to rights, and that making it on prime-time television necessitated years as a character actor or stand-up comic, along comes "F--- I'm in My Twenties" (aka "FIIMT") to either make you clinically depressed or positively inspired. 

A couple of years back, Emma Koenig was just another NYU Experimental Theatre grad with a famous older brother (Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig), who advised she start a blog about her experiences being a struggling 20-something artist in NYC. Fast forward to 2012, and her FIIMT Tumblr landed her a book deal with Chronicle and, now, a TV adaptation that's in the works at NBC.


Deadline reports that Koenig will co-write the half-hour comedy, which is being executive produced by "Alphas" honchos Lloyd Braun (no known relation to the same-named "Seinfeld" bit-parter) and Gene Stein. This news also comes just a couple of days after CBS announced it will be transforming Lauren Bachelis' likeminded Hollywood Assistants Tumblr into a broadcast project.
 
 
All of this, of course, speaks to the larger trend of young women both behind and in front of the small-screen camera, from Lena Dunham's "Girls" (which Koenig has cited as an influence) to "New Girl" And "Don't Trust the B----" Or, in most of those instances, having immediate family of established, big-city artistic repute. Whichever way you prefer to see it.

This means TV has hit an all time LOW !!!!!.. Shame on you  NBC..

 I'll never been seen with my remote clicking on NBC.. that's just pure trash.

When I read this to my fiance', the only response he could give me was "What are they cancelling, now?"...Too many good shows have come and gone. We don't even bother watching TV anymore. We watch older shows through Netflix. The ONLY decent show they've come out with recently, is Once upon a time. And we both like that.

 Our TV is seldom if ever turned on anymore  There's very little if any worthwhile programming on any channel. We just dumped Satellite services  there was 300 channels without worthwhile programming now we're back to the antenna with 15 or 20 channels still without anything worth watching. If not for sportsand the 'NEWS" I wouldn't even own a TV.

NBC providing more CRAP for us. In "rules for radicals" by Sol Alinski (both Obama and Hillary Clinton have stated its their all time favorite book,) it lists the procedures necessary to overthrow and turn a way a Democracy. 1. Take over the schools so you control what they learn. CHECK. 2. Take over the media so you control what they hear. CHECK. 3. Saturate the people with stupidity and entertainment that eliminates morality, and numbs them to new terminology makes the unacceptable, acceptable. CHECK. Attack the other side with constant allegations of doing WHAT YOU ARE DOING in order to keep them off balance and defending themselves against insanity, rather then relating their real message. CHECK.

NBC as everyone has noted here in their posts, is a massive part of this tactic. They along with CNN ABC, CBS etc actually MEET and email the administration to collaborate with them as is obvious by their constant organized attacks using the SAME messaging phrases as the White House, as well as the selection of radical leftist CRAP on their outlets. Speak to your kids and neighbors people. They are being hynotized into ignorant drones for the left.

Another bit of trash from immature, nasty NBC..  I will not miss NBC if it flushes itself down the toilet. Immature, silly trash is all they have. I think I might watch NCIS on NBC and that is it.  When NBC became an "Obama sends a thrill up my leg" station, I stopped watching it....and never looked back.   Nothing but trash.

NBC crawled up Obama's pants leg and killed themselves by doing so. So biased that they turned off most of their audience.  They have zip for new shows (what they do have stinks).   They just do not have anything that anyone really wants to watch.

 NBC's ratings have sunk so low that they're desperately trying anything they can to attract viewers. I can't think of or even name a single show on NBC, except for "Saturday Night Live", which has sucked more & more every since the early '80's.

 I find it amazing that the NBC network has even been able to stay on the air for as long as they have. Perhaps this year will be their last? One can only hope...

 FIIMT might attract a small handful of viewers, but those viewers will be the same broke, out of work, liberal 20-somethings who waste a good portion of their day reading the FIIMT blog. Not exactly a huge incentive for any businesses looking to sponsor the show.

I find the comments here funny. NBC has had some huge backlash here but only because it is the "popular" thing to do right now lol. I see mindless comments following the crowd "pretending" to have some sort of wit in their response.

I can see that tv is really reaching to find something to put on.  Really, Todays tv is terrible showing pregnant teenagers and now this with the bad language.  We are supposed to be teaching our children not showing them that its alright, then here comes the networks saying this is the norm.  Well thats how low we have sunk and I am appalled!!!!  The only good thing on Tv worth watching is NCIS.  Thank the lord its still on..
