New Season 7 'Dexter' Trailer
Deb reacts to discovering her brother's dark secret
"Get away from the body."
"Deb, it's me."
"Jesus, Dexter."
It's not much of a glimpse. But at least we know what will happen in the seconds immediately following "the moment of truth," that electrifying Season 6 cliffhanger when Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) discovered that her brother, Dexter (Michael C. Hall), has a really nasty secret hobby.
Bing: More about 'Dexter'
Showtime has released the following trailer, in which Dexter's inner voiceover announces: "Everything in my life has brought me to this point. It's what I am. It's all I am."
Of course, we'll have to wait three more months to learn how this ultimately plays out. But not every scenario is possible. For instance, if Deb arrests Dexter for being a serial killer, all dramatic tension vanishes. And we already know that Dexter won't off Deb, since Lumen survived being a witness in Season 5.

More likely, Deb -- the dutiful newly appointed police lieutenant -- will help keep Dexter's secret and deal with the anguish of that deception. (It's also possible that Dexter will somehow be able to justify this as a single isolated murder, committed as vengeance for the attempt on his son's life.)
Can you wait? Not us.
Season 7 of "Dexter" premieres on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.
