'Dexter,' 'Homeland' premiere dates announced
Seasons 8 and 3 of Showtime's cornerstone dramas coming soon

In a move likely intended to overlap with Golden Globe buzz, Showtime has revealed return dates for its award-winning thriller "Homeland" and serial-killer saga "Dexter." On Saturday, the network announced via its Facebook page that Season 3 of "Homeland" will return to life in the wake of Nazir's posthumous domestic attack on Sept. 29, while the eighth and final bow for "Dexter" gets a surprisingly early premiere on June 30.
"Homeland" in particular is at a significant turning point. Both Damian Lewis and Claire Danes took home trophies at last night's Globes ceremony (Mandy Patinkin was robbed!), and a volatile Season 2 left off with Brody on the run and Washington in shambles after a terrorist bombing.
Meanwhile, everyone's favorite cop/killer sibling duo on "Dexter" are in a serious pile of WTF. Deb and Dex started off 2013 by co-conspiring to murder the snooping LaGuerta on New Year's Eve, and the walls of guilt and suspicion will no doubt close in as Mr. Morgan's murderous adventurous approach their finale. All of which is fine, so long as he and sis don't make out.
In addition, Showtime's Michael Sheen/Lizzy Caplan-led TV movie "Masters of Sex" will premiere after "Homeland," and the Liev-Schreiber-starring series "Ray Donovan" makes its debut following "Dexter." And no, we have no idea if "Gigolos" has been renewed for an improbable third round of beefcake porn.
"Dexter" Season 8 premieres Sunday, June 30, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime. "Homeland" Season 3 premieres Sunday, Sept. 29, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.
