I like Maggie Smith as an actress, she's wonderful. But her character and her wise **** cracks, some are funny and other's show how ridiculously stupid she really appears by saying such things. Take for instance her quips about Cora's mother while they are sitting at the dinner table. She and Lord Grantham trying to appear clever really show how stupid those remarks are. And like Cora's mom couldn't hear those remarks?! I hope this show isn't going to make the snobbery a huge part of this program or I'll stop watching it. Ofcourse Cora's mom (Shirley) can give as good as she can take, love this woman and hope we get to see more of her.
