Christian Slater Couldn't Break In

FOX cancels his latest sitcom … again

"Breaking In" has been yanked from FOX's schedule, where it had been airing on Tuesday nights at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT. This marks the second time the struggling Christian Slater sitcom has met the ax. It had been revived after being canceled last May.

According to this Entertainment Weekly report, the last three scheduled episodes will be replaced by repeats of the show's lead-in, Zooey Deschanel's "New Girl." The most recent "Breaking In" drew 2.6 million viewers and a 1.3 rating, meaning that it lost 43 percent of "New Girl's" audience. (Ouch.)

This completes a trifecta of failed shows for Slater, who also couldn't break in with 2008's "My Own Worst Enemy" or 2010's aptly titled "The Forgotten."

FOX claims its remaining "Breaking In" episodes "will air at a later date."

We're betting a later time, too -- as in 1 or 2 a.m.

I think this guy stinks and is one of the least cared about TV actors.

His shows when they get a chance all bomb.

Its because of his lack of poersonality or charm or anything-Hes just plain DULL.

He is basically a commercial voice spokesperson now.

Yeah the this show was a dud the first time and a bomb the second time.  Good Bye,  and dump the unaired episodes.  Do not punish us anymore.

"Fox has to give shows half a chance."

 

I think putting a show on the air TWICE, and having to cancel it twice, is actually giving it more than half a chance.  The vast majority of the audience has spoken, and sooner or later, the network has to listen.

Slater seems like a nice guy, but he's just not an interesting entertainer.

I really liked Christian Slater in The Forgotten, and although I like him, I wasn't as enthralled with Breaking In. I'm sorry his shows keep getting cancelled though.

why is it they always kill the good shows and leave some of the stupidest shows on christian slater is a great actor its not his fault that there canceling it again they need to put it on a better day and a little ealier give it a chance then

Christian Slater is the Jon Cryer of his generation.  Cryer had so many failed TV pilots in Hollywood after his movie career cooled and before "Two and A Half Men" came along that many people in the entertainment industry called him "No Call-Back Cryer," owing to his appearances in so many doomed pilots and series.  And now, Cryer's gold, even more so without Charlie Sheen to drag him down.  Christian Slater's star will rise, just in a more fitting vehicle for his talents.  And he'll be grrrrrrrrreat!!!

I'm almost ready to give up watching TV, because it seems like every show I like gets cancelled! I loved this show! I was pleased when this show was given a second chance. It sucks that it's been axed again!

I also love this show even when you threw in Meagan Mulalley I still loved it. They always cancel all the good shows and now they will show repeats of New Girl I like New Girl but not enough to watch repeats of guess I will watching another channel instead!

I loved the show last year and was upset that it had been cancelled. I didn't even realize Fox had brought it back until about a week ago. It's very hard to cancel a show, bring it back unexpectedly, with major changes, and expect it to do well in the ratings. Airing it after "New Girl" wasn't that brilliant an idea either since both shows are not going to appeal to the same demographic. Boo to Fox for messing up a perfectly good show!

Christian Slater is awesome, Breaking in is a good show. I'm pretty sick of Fox because the pretty much the only thing they play now are reality shows.

I loved this show before it was cancelled the first time and they did not need to tweak it at all! Bringing in Megan Mullany (I'm sure it's not spelled right) was NOT the answer!! They really messed up with this show, it was funny. As far as Christian Slater goes I think he was really good on this show, he was kinda like a mash up of his characters in "Heathers" and "Pump Up The Volume". I feel bad all of his shows have been cancelled because he is talented.

The show was actually just fine before it lost its first female lead (to House), and then signed Megan Mullally (not sure if I spelled it right, but I'm not a fan of hers so forgive me). Last season's episodes were funny and so were the "guest appearances" (Michael Rosenbaum from Smallville). The only reason why FOX was petitioned to bring it back was based on how the show USED to be, and since it almost doesn't even resemble what it used to be, it would be best to squash "Big Bang Theory LITE for Dummies"....

My husband and I love Breaking In!  We think it's hysterical.  I also really liked the Forgotten.  I was bummed when they cancelled that!  Fox has to give shows half a chance.  We loved Human Target too and they cancelled that!
