Couric, Lake and Probst join 'Ellen,' 'Anderson Live,' 'The Talk, 'Wendy Williams'
The second wave of the new season in daytime TV kicks off Monday, Sept. 10, with a landslide of new, returning and revamped talk shows. Katie Couric, Ricki Lake and Jeff Probst launch new shows and "Ellen," "Anderson Live," "The Talk" and "The Wendy Williams Show" return. All this competition means big names on the daytime schedule for the week of Sept. 10, including Beyoncé, P!nk, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Beiber, Reese Witherspoon, Katy Perry, Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, Sofia Vergara, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Katey Sagal, Demi Lovato, Britney Spears and Simon Cowell, Kristin Chenoweth, Niecy Nash, David Arquette, Lance Bass and several U.S. Olympic stars.
"Live! With Kelly and Michael," "The View" and "Steve Harvey" launched last week, while "The Rachael Ray Show" and newcomer Trisha Goddard premiere Sept. 17 and Marie Osmond launches her talker on Oct. 1. Here's what's launching next week.

"Anderson Live"Anderson Cooper returns, with his daytime talk show retitled and revamped for Season 2. On Monday, he'll be joined by co-host Kristin Chenoweth and guests Beyonce, Honey Boo Boo and June ("Here Comes Honey Boo Boo") and Tan Mom. Other cohosts lined up for premiere week include Niecy Nash, Kelly Osbourne, Howie Mandel and David Arquette. During the week, Cooper will also sit down with Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon and the cast of "Arbitrage;" U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist Ryan Lochte; TLC's "Breaking Amish" cast; Jacqueline Laurita ("Real Housewives of New Jersey"), who opens up about her son's autism; and human lie detector Janine Driver.
"Ellen"P!nk helps Ellen DeGeneres kick of her 10th season in daytime with a rocking performance and a chat about motherhood and being a CoverGirl. DeGeneres, in turns, surprises the former gymnast by introducing her to Olympic gold medalists Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney and Kyla Ross. Patrick Dempsey will also be on hand to toast "Ellen" and dish the "Greys Anatomy" premiere. The rest of "Ellen" premiere week offers visits with Britney Spears and Simon Cowell ("The X Factor") and Allison Janney ("Finding Nemo 3D") and performances by Dave Matthews Band, Little Big Town and Phillip Phillips. Plus, Sophia Grace & Rosie host "Tea Time" with Reese Witherspoon, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber.
"The Jeff Probst Show"
The Emmy winning "Survivor" host breaks into daytime Monday with a week featuring remarkable people living their lives in extraordinary ways. On Monday, Probst sits down with three guests who say "yes" to life in incredible ways. Tuesday, it's three inspiring people who completely switched gears in life, including med student turned Olympic hit Emeli Sande. Tuesday it's all about 15 minutes of fame, including a sit down with Jackie and David Siegel ("The Queen of Versailles"), the couple building the biggest home on America. Then it's "Sexy at Any Age" with YouTube's "Three Golden Sisters," Josie Cavaluzzi, Teresa Dalquist and Mary Bartnicki, followed by "What’s a Real Man?" with Morgan Spurlock.
Signature segments of "The Jeff Probst Show" will include "Guys On The Couch," in which Jeff invites two guys onstage to answer relationship questions from women in the audience, and "Ambush Adventure," in which Jeff challenge an audience members to take a step outside their comfort zone to confront an issue in their life - they have to say "Yes" before they know the adventure, which can dramatic, romantic, poignant or funny.
Katie Couric has promised big surprises for the Monday premiere of her talk show. Her first guests will be Jessica Simpson, who talks motherhood and weight loss, and Sheryl Crow, who wrote the show's theme song and will talk about her recently diagnosed brain tumor for the first time.
Mom and newlywed Ricki Lake returns to the talk show scene with a more mature take. She'll still take on hot topics and aim for the provocative, like she did in the '90s, but don't expect DNA tests and hyped up drama. "The Ricki Lake Show" kicks off with a topic most women, including Lake, can relate to: weight loss & body image. Lake follows that up with episodes about hormones, the power of social media, female U.S. veterans and Virginity 2.0, which includes visits with a 41-year-old virgin and a sex-therapist who is a "surrogate partner" to his clients. Though you may find celebs or experts on the schedule, "The Ricki Lake Show" won't be celebrity driven.
"The Talk""The Talk" hosts kicks off their third season Monday by going on air makeup-free, along with guests Jamie Lee Curtis, Michelle Stafford and Melody Thomas Scott of "The Young and the Restless" and Katherine Kelly Lang of "The Bold and the Beautiful."
"The Wendy Williams Show""The Wendy Williams Show" goes into season 4 live with a brand new studio, but Wendy Williams will also hit the street during the episode, as seen in the clip above. On Monday, Maksim Chmerkovskiy talks up "Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars" and reuniting with partner Kirstie Alley. The Scissor Sisters perform and Wendy Williams kicks off fashion week with Joe Zee ("All on the Line with Joe Zee").
