'Bent' Star Books 'New Girl' Gig
David Walton and other special guests beef up FOX comedy's cast

NBC's ill-fated "Bent" might have experienced a premature demise, but at least its actors' careers are on the straight and narrow. As we reported a couple weeks back, sometime movie star Amanda Peet landed quite nimbly on the set of CBS' hit drama "The Good Wife." And now, rising A-lister and Peet's reasonably attractive "Bent" counterpart David Walton is prepared to blaze a comeback trail. Entertainment Weekly breaks word that frequent sitcom casualty Walton—poor guy's also gone down with the ship on "Perfect Couples" and "Cracking Up"—has been added to "New Girl" for Season 2. The 33-year-old Boston native will play Zooey Deschanel's new "bad-boy" love interest.

The season premiere will also feature Mrs. Judd Apatow herself, Leslie Mann, as a shot girl. Not only that, but Hollywood Reporter adds that underused "Reno 911!" ensemble member Niecy Nash will pop up as a hooker and petty thief. Hey, a girl's gotta make a living.
"New Girl" returns this September on FOX.
