Sharon Osbourne Slams Remini and Peete on Howard Stern

Were 'The Talk' recasts really about 'weird' chemistry?

By TVDeeva Deanna Barnert Dec 27, 2011 6:11PM
Original "The Talk" co-hosts Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert and Julie Chen made an appearance on the Howard Stern Radio Show Monday to promote their show, and the visit has everyone talking. The conversation got into the Stern's usual areas of interest, including anal sex, boob jobs and vagina-plasty; but the shock jock also got serious, calling the ladies out on the controversial exits of former co-hosts Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini.

Just before "The Talk" returned for a second season this September, rumors began swirling that the two co-hosts were out. As fans rallied around them, Peete and Remini tweeted their confusion and then sadness, and to this day, Peete claims she's not sure why she was ousted. Now, she might just have an idea ... or not.

When Howard Stern had the remaining hosts on his Sirius radio show on Monday, he got right to the heart of the matter, asking Julie Chen about "being painted as the witch in this." He was referring to rumors that as the wife of CBS head honcho Les Moonves, Chen was the dominating hand that sent Peete and Remini packing. Before Chen, could answer, however, Gilbert stepped in on her behalf.

"She's definitely not the bad guy," Gilbert insisted. "This show is run by the studio, the network, an EP [executive producer], and that's where the creative decisions are coming from. These kinds of changes happen all the time on these shows… When people are blaming Julie, they're looking for a scapegoat."

Stern fired back that that sounded like a cover up, to which Osbourne cried, "Let's get real!"

So what did Osbourne get real abut? After a bit of a sidetrack, she revealed she likes the ousted co-hosts, but the chemistry while they were on the show was, "Weird! Weird!"

"Some people don't really know who they are," Osbourne said (at the start of the recording above). "You have to know who you are when you're in something like this. You can't pretend to be something you're not. You have to know your brand. You can't be all things to everyone. And the other thing is, I always say, 'I'm not running for public office. I don't care if people like me or not.'"

Those are some seriously real insinuations! Osbourne clearly agreed with the decision to replace Peete and Remini and from the sound of it, so did Gilbert and Chen. They also made it clear they approve of the Season 2 additions, Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler, but again insisted that neither they nor Moonves had anything to do with the shakeup.

Well, at least Peete and Remini have an idea now … Or do they? Less than a day later, the rumor mill is already gearing up with new insinuations and secret sources claiming it was all a cover up, after all. We may never know why Peete and Remini weren't invited back, but as Stern points out, things like this happen in this biz.

"The Talk" airs weekdays on CBS.

Wow, what an interesting blog.  For those who aren't familiar with Sheryl Underwood, she currently serves as the International Grand Basileus for a well know Sorority, was a contributor on the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show and The Steve Harvey Morning Show She hosted her own radio program, "Sheryl Underwood and Company" for Radio One-owned Syndication One News/Talk and XM Sarellite Radio;s.   On Tuesday nights, Underwood hosts The Sheryl Underwood Show on Jamie Foxx's Sirius Satellite Radio.

She's a famous female comedian, who's also a veteran who gave back, and visited out deployed troops and entertained them.  Most importantly, she's a very beautiful woman inside and out!  I've had the pleasure of meeting her at a conference, and in spite of her fame and wealth, she was very friendly to everyone that came out as fans and desired to take photos and requested autographs. She's a very humble lady.  She ahs endured a tragedy when she lost her husband a few years ago.  We really should be slow to judge people that we don't know.  Its not her fault that she was selected or that your favorite host was released.

That is the first time I've heard Leah Remini's name and "lady" in the same statement.  She is foul-mouthed, low rent and a bore.  Holly Robinson-Peete is pure class and should not have been replaced.  I should talk my brother in to coming on here and posting some truths about Ms Remini from working on her King of Queens show. She was a nightmare and was not liked by anyone on the staff. Her saving grace? She's a darn good actress! Just not a nice person.  I think The Talk should have kept Holly Robinson-Peete and added Aisah Tyler (one of the top female comedians, co-star on Friends and Ghost Whisperer to name just a few).  Just my opinion.

could it be remini and peet were ousted because remini IS and peet MIGHT be a scientologist? most people do know remini is ONE among a few other celebrities

or maybe sharon osbourne just doesn't like them because of IT(weird). keep one thing in mind, most folks secretly loathe L. Ron Hubbard's people ,considering the church of scientology is NOT the first organization to have the initials T.C.O.S.

it is anton szandor lavey whom started (T).he (C).hurch (O).f (S).atan on april 30th 1966 at 12:01 am.

in fact scientologists didn't receive tax exempt status until bill clinton came into office and gave it to them in the late 1990's. why else was their tons of advertising on tv for their "church" from 1998 to 2001 until george w. bush came in and their ads vanished.

The title of this article is "Sharon Osbourne Slams Remini and Peete, etc".  How is this slamming?  She doesn't say a mean thing about either of them! I personally don't watch this show anymore since those two were let go.  Talk about chemistry?  NO ONE on this show has any!!! I think Leah Remini needs to let go of her Carrie Heffernan persona and become her own person.

Sharon Osborne is the best on that show.  I really don't miss the other two, Remini was so snarky I would turn it off.  I like the new team much better.

OY, I love Sharon's looks, but believe me  she is so full of herself, holding back while walking out at the beginning of each show, and doing her heart thing....please, I liked the show with the other two but I personally wasn't nuts for Peet after Trumps show, but to fire them was wrong.  Julie could go too...but we know who she sleeps with.  The view is better.

I would rather watch a SOAP OPERA anyday, the daytime talk shows are all alike and so boring!

LEAH was the only fun & real personality on The Talk, huge mistake losing her.

My daytime choices are Hoda & Kathie Lee, Bold & Beautiful, Y&R and General Hospital and Who Wants To Be  a Millionaire.

I've watched the show from the beginning and was sad to see Peete and Remini go, but I like the show's concept and really want it to succeed.  I find Aisha Tyler delightful and funny, but Sheryl Underwood is really ruining it for me.  Her points are nonsensical and her brand of humor really falls flat.  Additionally, I feel like each week there is an increase in the amount of topics focused around some sort of homosexual "injustice" and it is really wearing me out.  As the creator of this show, I understand that Sara has a right to push her personal agenda, but the panel is so one sided on this issue and doesn't even attempt to fairly represent the audience..... plus isn't this show supposed to be centered on motherhood anyway?  Please don't make me give up on this show!

Sharon Osbourne is a foul mouthed tramp.  Julie Chen is only employed by CBS because of her husband and she has been putting other women out of jobs ever since she married him - on no merit of her own.  Moonves is a chump.  Holly and Leah are down to earth, hardworking females, unlike the other women on that show - so of course they would have to be ousted - they outshine the other females on that show.

Sharon connects w/ Sheryl cuz their both trash! Sara has no "direction/know who she is"-Sharon. Sara created the show & Julie is married to the boss. Howie still talks like a 12 yr old boy. STAY on Sirius!

I watched this since it started and never found that the two let go were good for the show at all Remini was so trying to be a lady that the others looked better because of her dumb statements.  She is no lady and never will be.  Chen and Osbourne are the ones who really keep this together and have had some very smart thoughts on subjects that have made us all think outside of the box which is not a bad thing.  I think the shake up was good for the show and perhaps really needed to be done to keep it going forward.  I am not a fan of the two let go so it was not a loss to me.

And Sharon Osbourne is famous because.......  She was married to a drug addict?  She raised two former drug addicts?  Her talent is right up there with the Kardashian clan.  Leah Remini was on a successful sit-com for many years and I must confess that I don't know that much about Holly.  Leah has perfect comic timing.  I'm not saying that that prepares her for being a talk show host, but Sharon, they don't know who they are?  Where did you get your psychoanalyst's degree?

This show has been boring from its very first air date.  The only person who seemed to have some kind of pulse was Leah Remini.  (I really liked her character on the King of Queens).  While I do not watch the show on any kind of regular basis since I am not particularly fond of dying and dead things, I have seen it with the original cast and the new cast.  Sheryl Underwood???  Really? Seriously?  Her presence takes the show down to ghetto level.  She is fine on shows like the Tom Joyner show...another ghetto show that shows us black folk as ignorant and unsophisticated.  Aisha Tyler is just dead wood.  Sara Gilbert is a dead fish and looks like one.  Julie Chen is a frozen fish, cold and boring.  Then there is Sharon Osbourne.  Seriously?  I agree with Vermont1952 that her talent is on par with the Kardashians...she has none.  Only in America can a classless woman like Sharon be a presence on TV.  This show is only on the air because of who Julie Chen's husband is.  Save us from this trash by taking it off the air.

"Less than a day later, the rumor mill is already gearing up..."??  Um, I hate to break it to you, TV Buzz, but this interview with Howard Stern took place over 2 weeks ago (December 12, if I'm not mistaken).   And the rumor mill geared up and quieted down by the 13th.  Snooze.
