Report: Matt Lauer a public target

One of the most popular: "You got Ann fired. Does that make you happy?"
Lauer went from good guy to bad overnight in June, after TMZ reported he had maneuvered to oust Ann Curry as his co-host as part of his last contract negotiation. (NBC execs have publicly denied any connection between Lauer and what they term Curry's "reassignment" to reporter for "NBC Nightly News With Brian Williams" and other NBC news programs. Curry was replaced by Savannah Guthrie on the "Today" show.)

The TMZ report quotes unnamed NBC sources saying the public harassment is "driving (Lauer) crazy, he's so unhappy." The report adds: “Matt is telling people at NBC there have also been lots of sarcastic comments about his $25 million salary."
Do you think Matt is being unfairly abused, or is this karma?
"Today" airs weekdays at 7 a.m. ET/PT on NBC.
Get a clue NBC Executives...the people who were faithful to the Today Show want Ann Curry back! Just read the comments here...
I, for one, have been VERY disappointed since Ann left the show. I think Savannah Guthrie is awful! Ann was hands-down the best commentator. I stopped watching the show because I love Al, Willie and Natalie, but I am sorry, I can't stand Savannah Guthrie's voice. It's like nails on a chalk board. Not to mention her hair...
Matt should have stood-up for Ann but he was always rude to her...shame on you Matt. You deserve to have people tell you what they think. The NBC executives should take notice of what people want and truly enjoy.
As for Ann I do miss seeing her there. True she was not very comfortable in that new spot she had not been there very long, and did not have a chance to settle into it. She deserved longer. She is amazing when she is in her element!
Ann Curry sucked as a reporter, her monotone voice, lack of original reporting, and alll of a sudden her miraculous #26 do good deeds crap, capitalizing off the murders of Newtown is a fake failure. Ann Curry is terrible and needed to go no matter what Lauer said, and his performance is questionable too.
Ann Curry had to go, she is as big of a distraction of poor reporting as Robin Roberts from ABC. Robin Roberts is a terrible reporter and uses her personal life to try to gain sympathy to make up for her terrible reporting.
Ann Curry needs to find work other than reporting, her delivery is terrible.
Ahh poor Matty doesn't like when the poop he shovels comes back to haunt him. Does he deserve his such a high salary for tweeking the truth to his own personal truths---no he does not.
Is he responsible for Ann's firing maybe but we will never know. He probably said some negative things about Ann, and felt envy and threatened that She was a better journalist and reporter than he will ever be.She was and is a reported and reported on the News objectively without tweeking it to a personal perspective.
Granted the Today show has been going down for a while---it lost it's focus and became cutzie and an entertainment glub of personal opinions. Yet Curry kept her professionalism through it all while Matt has fallen into his own trap of arrogance and pompiousness!
Can Savanah replace ANN CURRY? Not at all as she cannot compare to Ann's professionalism. And wasn't Savanah a Legal Anaylist over that of a professional journalist?
The Today Show somehow warped into the Matt Lauer Show and that is their downfall. Matt was once a great journalist, but the fame and money went to his head and the Today Show suffered as a result!
