Lindsay Lohan was back in court after failing an alcohol test, but day timers are clicking their tongues at LiLo for other reasons. It seems Matt Lauer flew to all the way to the West Coast to catch up with La Lohan on Tuesday and the diva left him hanging!
"Some of you may have heard that I was actually with Lindsay on Tuesday afternoon at her home in Los Angeles," Lauer said on "Today" June 23, 2011. "We were supposed to sit down for an interview to talk about her current situation and her plans for the future. At the last minute, Lindsay and her people did express concern about the timing of the interview and it was canceled. I think we're learning more this morning about the reasons for their concerns."

Bing: The latest on Lindsay Lohan

Lauer was referring to Lohan's most recent day in court, which came because she failed an alcohol test. While she ultimately was returned to house arrest, she was given a scolding (for whatever that's worth!) and told not to have any more parties.

"Don't give people reason to hate you. Don't do stupid things that fly in the spirit of the court's order," Judge Stephanie Sautner told Lohan. "You know I sentenced you to jail. You know I didn't sentence you to house arrest, and what do you do? You have barbecues at your house so your neighbors are writing letters about you."

While Lauer pointed to Lohan's current troubles as the probable reason for her cancelation, industry buzz is still offering various reasons, ranging from Lohan's demand for money to her refusal to do more than a 15-minute interview, so the rest of the NBC gossip shows could have their own fresh Lohan tidbits.

MSN TV is curious to see whether Lohan reschedules with Lauer, which depends as much on her interest as it does on whether Lauer is willing to make another trip West.

Eventually, people have to learn moderation to co-exist in a chemically dependant world.  The faster one learns this the better for them.  There are a few lucky who if they go cold-turkey can not nearly attain drug abuse, because their system rejects it.  Drug use is like weight control.  It takes discipline and moderation.

Dry alcoholics or 'reformed' drug users (typically more with dry alcoholics) reformed drug users typically go on prescription drugs that they were 'self-medicating' still cry of their woes of their alcoholic days, versus the ones that learn moderation..

Part of correction is that people need to explore their own deviances within an expected amount of privacy.  To take away all boundaries of privacy which is a primal instinct is unhealthy.  That is why the correctional system doesn't work as it operates today.

Being completely dry isn't always the answer, but learning moderation is.  Functionality with enjoyed activities.  The only aspect of corrections that works is course of time.  To wish death to drug addicts is cruel and inhumane.  To go completely dry is brutal and a shock to the system that feels like death warmed over.

Her neighbors are writing letters about her.  We are becoming a policed-state nation.  Give people who don't have position a way to pull someone down that does and here we have our own personal hell...

People really need to mind their own business and redefine cool pre-invasion of privacy era.  Give people the space to develop their own character that fall within the restraints of non-offensives.  Variety is the beauty of life.  The spectrum breathes color back into a dim dismal bleak way of governing.

I have only clicked on this story to comment. I don't care about Lohan. I don't want to hear her excuses, see her tears, and I don't want to watch her on the big or little screen. I and many others like me simply want this waste of humanity to go away. She is not a talent, she's a low-life addict who has used her celebrity to work the system. If everyone would stop fawning all over her and following her every pathetic move, then she would officially become what she in reality already is-- a has-been. Then she wouldn't be able to milk her "star status" and would either be jailed appropriately or actually placed in a rehab program withthe intent of rehab. The way it is now, the way her hot mess of a life is constantly in the spotlight, she will never change unless she ODs and dies.

I do not know anyone that can have parties and get drunk when they are suppose to be under arrest. What the hell is wrong with judges in Calif. I think that everyone in that state shuiold be turn out of jail also. This is just plain stupid. There is no fair law in this country .Voters need to remember these judges and kick them out at the next election

We have MUCH bigger problems in this country. Who needs this "background noise" to distract from what's imporant..like jobs, wars, deficit, budget.... Who really cares what she has to say?  Not me.  And her father...on The View recently...WHY?  What are his credentials that gives him authority or expertise to speak on any topic?  And who cares what he has to say?  NOBODY.  Why do they think that the people want to listen to their excuses after excuses?  Frankly nobody cares.  Just go away and spare us from having your dirty laundry flapping in our faces.

This is a ruse. I'm amazed that people simply don't "get it". LiLo is no Dodo! She could not BUY this much publicity. If she DOES (ever) get penalized, the liberal, crybaby media will jump on the "pity party" bandwagon.........

The media needs to completely forget about her.  Once she loses all attention, drops off the radar, and can't get work, she will finally be punished - all brought on her self.

Hey Lindsay, better practice the phrase "Would you like fries with that?"

Excellent, I hope that this Judges  "Judge Stephanie Sautner" and the others before her that have slapped Lindsey on the wrist and allowed to make a joke of the court and the system, will all be part of the eventual lawsuit that will be brought against this star and the others, which should include the state and should include the judges that fail to up hold the law, and who refuse to punish actors and starlet's only because who they are, or who they know, after all they are better then us, they have no defect's us common people do. Only when someone loses a life, then lets see what this Judge say's or who she blames or what part of the system she points at for not doing the job she was swore to do. As a judge she does not only a disservice but also is just allowing a problem to grow again.. will it that this judge losing someone close to her to grow some balls and do her job as a judge because now it effects her, Her choice now only effects others, so why care, she can punch the clock and feel she's done her best today.. sorry, the bar should be higher when speaking of one's best your honor.

Sick of hearing about this waste of space. Deal with her properly-- send her to jail once and for all and then stop reporting on her, because she no longer deserves to be in the limelight.

If Lohan decides she wants to go ahead and do the interview with Matt Lauer, he should tell her to send him the round trip plane ticket and pay for all his expenses for the next trip. He/NBC was willing to do that for her but was stood up. Better yet, all media should protect themselves when dealing with Lohan by having all interviews, photo-ops, etc agreed upon with contracts that protect each party for things such as this.  She never has to pay for anything because she has always gotten away with doing only what she wants. She may pay more attention if it hit her in the pocketbook when she plays her games with the rest of the world.

I would like to know why the Judge Stephanie Sautner sent her home.  LeeLow..Laylo...LaLa...whateverLo, needs to be jailed for her own good at this point.  She continues to thumb her nose at the courts and the law and the judges may spit fire and vinegar, but they let her go home.  I know this has been said before, but if this had been some kid from the subburbs, Compton, East L.A. or anyone else that hadn't stared in Hollywood movie, they would have been jailed long ago.  The courts need to pull their heads out of their backsides and treat this girl like the lowlife addict that she is and put her in a 8 x 10 cell for a few years.

LiLo = Lindsay Loser!   Cut your losses Matt, she isn't worth the time or trouble and lots of people really don't care anymore.  She was cute, now she's wasted.

I feel bad for the Today show and Matt because this was a big waste of their time and money. (But they should have known this). The state of California continues to waste money on this chick trying to teach her how to be responsible and not self destruct and it doesn't seem to do any good.

Example - having your friends over for drinks and a b-bque - bad choice while under home arrest - doing a professional interview while being sober - could have been good if that's actually what happened. But she keeps doing things that just blow up on her.

Matt - do yourself a favor, forget about her and stay in NYC
